La Bonita Ice Cream Treats — Restaurant in South Ogden

I have been wanting to try this place out forever and I'm honestly disappointed. Everything was made fresh for the most part. We got a large strawberry agua fresca and a large snowcone.

Food wise, from the two items, it wasn't the greatest. The aqua fresca was good, just minimal. It was a few strawberries, with a few bottles of water and a sweetener I'm assuming blended up. My salvadoran husband says it tastes more like a smoothie, which I agree, but it was still good. Seemed a bit pricey for the minimal ingredients though. My biggest issue was the snowcone. I don't know if it was the cream or the ice machine not being rinsed thoroughly but something tasted a lot like cleaning chemicals. I thought it was the syrups but I got two flavors and they both tasted like chemicals; and by that I mean that's all I can taste. I took a few sips and have instantly felt sick. Like I said, I don't know if it was just a mistake with cleaning, things happen, but that can be dangerous.

The atmosphere was good, it is small but it's a nice little place. It seems clean but there is no public bathroom. That wasn't a problem for me this time but if you bring in your small kids that still wear diapers or just need somewhere to go, it's probably not the place to sit in and stay. I got our order to go.

The woman that helped me was super nice, again everything was done to order.

I wanted to try this place because I read the reviews about all the natural flavors. I loved the idea of getting a treat on the healthier side. However, I went into the parlor a bit frazzled from being in the car with my newborn who was crying and when I asked if they had a bathroom a older man looked at me with a disgusting look and said no public restrooms. Now I don’t know if that is true because my boyfriend has been here before and said they let him use the restroom. I kind of took it personal and if that is true I find that to be idiotic when families come into a place like this and why am I going to take my 8 year old son to a place that doesn’t have bathrooms. When I went there it felt like home but more clean coming out of Mexico. The place was filled with a variety of flavors and some of my favorites back home. Delicious and I love the little area with a TV. We walked on with the show themed to the Halloween....even though it was day of the dead decorations. I must of walked in at a good time but it felt wonderful with the TV show of Adam's family black and white like I used to watch.
