Ordered for pick up on door dash. Prices appeared to be ridiculous like $7 for pancakes and an additional $10.50 to add beef sausage and 2 eggs...but I decided this morning to support a local restaurant that I haven't patronized before. Got to the restutaunt to pick up my order at the suggested time. The hostess/ cashier ( an older Latinx woman) starts yelling at me for putting in my order wrong (???), so they did not prepare the food. I attempted to show her how the menu on door dash only gives ridiculously priced options, which she admitted were too much compared to the menu price in addition to delivery fees etc. ( mind you I did a pick up order) she even yelled about the additional $3 tip. Anyway, she say she would make it now that I'm here and proceeds to give me the wrong meat. I felt rushed, embarrassed ( all the patrons heard her yelling at me and were staring in my direction) and when I asked if she would reimburse for the difference in price she said "No, it's already done in the computer. It's not the owner's fault that you paid too much. Next time call the resturaunt and come pick it up!" Sooo, that's not how a lot of ppl patronize resturaunts in this day and age. They will lose out on new customers this way, and they have ready lost me. I will give the woman the benefit of the doubt and just assume that's how she talks (condacending and abrasive, maybe a hearing impairment) but it definitely was offensive to me. I couldn't get out of there quick enough and I won't be back. Order...
Read moreI had a pretty disappointing experience at this diner. The seating was so uncomfortable that I actually got up and left before even seeing the menu. The booths are incredibly tight—I could barely move—and I’m not even a large person; I weigh under 150 pounds. To make matters worse, the woman seated behind me was leaning against the back of my chair, pushing me even closer to the table. It felt cramped and claustrophobic.
I had also considered applying for a job there, not realizing how unwelcoming the environment would be. When I asked about a waitress position, the woman at the counter immediately dismissed me just because I didn’t have prior experience. I told her I’m a fast learner and willing to work hard, but she kept emphasizing how difficult the job was and shut me down without even giving it real thought.
Honestly, it seems like the only reason people eat there is to save money—not because they actually enjoy the experience. Between the uncomfortable seating and the rude attitude from staff, I wouldn’t recommend this place to eat at, and I definitely wouldn’t want...
Read moreThe other day I ordered, Chris’s Texas Weiner South Orange, for lunch. I ordered their, Philly Cheesesteak Wrap, and man was it a real treat! Loved the accent of the pickle and the flavor of the coleslaw. The Philly Cheesesteak Wrap was fairly salty tasting, but very good all the same. The cheese negated the salty flavor in a way. Did not expect it to come with fries. Not a huge fry person, but ate all of them. The fries complimented the Philly Cheesesteak Wrap greatly. I usually would order breakfast items from, Chris’s, but so happy I got their lunch. My typical daily breakfast combo for Chris’s is their Taylor Ham, Egg, & Cheese, on a roll. With their Chicken Noodle Soup as the side! The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. I would HIGHLY recommend, Chris’s Texas Weiner South Orange, to anyone in the, South Orange, area looking for some excellent lunch food, AND/OR their...
