Medusa Greek Street Food — Restaurant in South Orange

They are absolutely unable to get an order out in a reasonable time. My wife and I have ordered from them 4 times and each time we had to wait well over an hour for a pickup that had a scheduled pickup time of 25 to 30 min. The first time was their soft open so that was obviously understandable, but each subsequent visit was a ridiculous wait including the most recent visit which I had to cancel the order because they clearly hadn’t even started to make it after an hour and fifteen minutes. A shame because their food is decent, and their sister restaurant in town Miti Miti is always very punctual. We will not be back. Strangely enough this review page has been flooded with exceptional reviews in the past day all stating eerily similar experiences and cadence. Take from that...

I’ve never had a food experience bad enough to compel me to leave a negative review until this. Ordered takeout and when I got there it was an extremely chaotic environment with the cook yelling at the front staff and frantically trying to fill orders. I waited an extra 40 minutes until my order was ready. Gave them the benefit of the doubt cause they said they got slammed with a bunch of takeout orders at the same time. For reference, I ordered a beet and goat cheese salad with gyro chicken. The meat they provided was very questionable looking (and tasting), would not have known it was chicken if no one told me, and was so fatty that I couldn’t even eat it. I’m so glad I stumbled across Medusa Greek Eatery—what an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, the entire team—from the chef to the manager and associates—made me feel so welcome. Everyone was warm, friendly, and genuinely cared about how I was enjoying my experience.

I had to hop on a couple of quick Zoom meetings while dining, and the team was incredibly accommodating, which I truly appreciated. Now, the food—absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and deeply authentic. I’ve had the privilege of eating in Greece, and this meal mirrored that experience in the best way possible.
