Updated review: I had a really bad experiece on Tuesday feb.18. I ordered a tofu with mixed veggies,(a dish that ive ordered at least 30 times in the past few years) it was soggy, over cooked and had what looked like rat poo in the mixed vegetables. Im shocked. I am unsure if I will revisit this place again. I will post a review if I do. I will be trying to find another Chinese place
(2024 review 5 stars) 6 stars honestly. Im so happy this place has remained consistent from when I first discovered it, during covid. This place only uses fresh ingredients, I recently had another place in Livingston and they used canned vegetables, which is horrible. The sauces here are the perfect consistency and not overloaded with cornstarch. They food is also not overly sweet. This place is just right! Try the tofu and mixed vegetables or the Fried pork dumplings (my fav of any chinese restaurant, they are nice and thick). If this place had a separate mainland chinese menu with authentic chinese food it would be amazing, things like braised sticky pork belly, mapo tofu, lamb cumin, it would be so good.

This restaurant is located behind Seton Hall University on Irvington Avenue, across from Blue Ocean Chinese (which isn't worth visiting). I have been coming to Tung Tin since the late 90s when I was a student at SHU. I have seen the inspector come in and inspect the kitchen, so I am confident of their food practices and cleanliness. This is my go to place for Chinese, they are fast and their food is fresh. I've never had a bad food experience and they've never appeared annoyed with me or any customer. Will continue to come here as long as I desire...
Read moreThe take out food taste was a cut above the other Chinese take outs around the area. The fried rice and Singapore rice noodles were soggy and it would be great if the rice and noodles were dried off in the freezer before recooking. Otherwise the food tastes were great. We ordered the family meal . Order the four entrees, add a side of noodles or fried rice instead of choosing them as entree dished. Family menu with 4 entrees (($29.99) with a side of fried rice was sufficient to feed 5 or 6 person . Food rated at 4.0, service ...
