Zoe Nail Salon — Local services in South Orange

I had the worst experience this past Saturday. I came in at 3:30 and asked the lady (Sylvia) if she will be able to do both hands and feet, if not, I’ll do one and come back for the other on Monday, she said yes. She soaked off my acrylic while doing my feet. She did not scrub my feet, she was done in 15 minutes, I asked her and she said I’m good, I asked again if I don’t need a callus removal, she said no. She then proceeded to finish removing the acrylic from my hands with the nail drill machine and started to put primer on my nails. She did not clean my nails, she did not ask me to wash them, she did not cut cuticles. Again, I asked, she said she will do it at the end. She then went on to say something in Spanish to the other lady (obviously about me, because she looked at me). If I tell you that she did the worst job ever, please believe me. At the end, she went on and cleaned around my nails which then left a gap around the painted area of my nails, the nails looked like they have been done for a week (growth). I spoke to the manager and another lady who speaks English (owners sister)and told them what I’m not happy about. I was then given to Maria (bless her) who scrubbed my feet and the amount of callus on my feet was shocking. I then told them that I would come back on Monday to fix my hands. The Sylvia woman was so pissed at me, so unprofessional.

I’ve been going to this place for over 2 years and taking grandma there. It’s such a shameful loss for her, because she really loved it there. Off to the next nail Salon...

This is my second bad experience with the Owner of this establishment. I went there to get my eyebrows done as I have for the last 7 years and she said that the lady that use to do them was no longer there. I trusted her to do them and my eyebrows look hideous!!! I was almost in tears so I asked to speak to her in the back since she had customers and she yelled and pointed some instrument in my face telling me that she just “cleaned” my eyebrows up and that they were messed up from before. I explained to her that I’ve only been coming here and she made some other excuses as to why they look so bad. I showed her numerous photos of how my eyebrows look after having them done there and she continued to yell and point the instrument in my face. She also walked to the front of the store yelling which brought unwanted attention to the situation. I have been spending my money here for years and will not step foot back in her door. I recently visited Zoe Nail Salon for a pedicure and a gel manicure with Angelica, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience.
