Usually Heirloom is great but yesterday was a disaster! I ordered a quart of soup, (cold) 1/2 cobb salad & slice of keylime pie. The pie was the last piece on display and I asked if it was last weeks, but guy behind the counter told me no its fresh from today! No way was that the last piece of today's pie at 12:40pm on a Monday afternoon, I should have went with my gut feeling, the crust was not only soggy but the bottom was also burnt! As for the employee lying to my face, that tells me alot. Then I waited 25 mins for my order to be given to me, yes cold soup and half a salad, but one staff member literally must have just went on their break just before i got there, as not one order was packed up and given to any waiting customer till he came back from his break, (the other two emplyee's just kept taking new orders and made drinks passing the food that was ready for customers again & again) then to top it all off he packed and gave the guy that came in after me his order first! The accompaniment's I was given to go with the pozole went straight in the trash. Old lettuce(supposed to be cabbage) old radishes, deep red color, no longer white and not a piece of cilantro in sight! The soup was good. I would probably bet it was Sally the owners day off as Im sure there is no way the same thing would have happened if she had been there. Definitely puts me of even thinking about going back in there again, thats 25 mins of my life I'll...
Read moreI've only been here twice but both times it's been... Interesting. The first time I visited was to pickup a "hostess" cupcake for my niece and they immediately started telling me the kitchen is closed and what I couldn't order. Not even a hello. My second time here was today, again no greeting. I walk up to the cashier area to input my order and a worker tells me I can't stand there and makes me move even though I told her I was trying to order. Someone then takes my order only to ask me to walk back to the cashier area I was at when they lady made me move. I knew that's where you pay... So I don't know why they made me move only to then ask me to walk back immediately after. As someone that works in the restaurant business, they need to be more friendly to anyone that walks in through the door. You never know if the long haired guy in a leather jacket might be a Chef just looking for bite on a rainy day. The Cubano...
Read moreWent here for breakfast the first time a few days ago and I didn't know what to order, but the lady taking orders (Sunny/Sonny) helped me so much! I said I wanted something flavorful and she recommended the chilaquiles and also recommended the smaller half size because the full plate is pretty large. I love how eager she was to help me and understood exactly what I wanted because the meal was perfect!!! I was so happy that I listened to her -- the food melted in my mouth and the flavors were incredible. I also asked Sunny/Sonny if they had water and even though it was in a jug where customers are meant to get water themselves, she offered to bring me some, which I thought was really sweet. Very good customer service, lively ambience (especially in the morning), and amazing food. I will definitely be coming back thanks to...
