Service can make or break an establishment and Scott the server can really take this one down with his abrupt and rude service. We were a party of 3 and sat near the server “hangout” station where we learned a lot about the servers. This included how they go to parties, take Xanax, get so drunk that they get kicked out bars and that Scott was mad because they weren’t cutting the floor. We were first greeted by two nice, bubbly hostesses followed by an angry look from one of the servers (as to let the hostess know that she didn’t want to be sat). After being seated, Scott came over and immediately asked if we were ready to order. I said that we need a few minutes and started to ask questions, but Scott was so abrupt and rushed us so much that I couldn’t get a question out. He rudely said, you’re not ready i’ll come back and I quickly blurted out (as he tried to run away) lobster bisque. I asked my husband if he wanted the Clam Chowder and before he could tell him that he wanted the bowl, not cup, Scott had said okay and ran away. Both soups are good (and yes my husband ended up with a cup instead of a bowl). Scott then proceeded to walk (extremely fast) by our table no less than 5 times, checking to see if we had closed our menus. This was his way of telling us to hurry up. We felt so rushed that I was forced to order without asking about certain foods in order to decide on my dinner, so I went with a lower priced item, a simple steak salad. I ordered medium rare and it was not. Med rare is a warm red center , rare is a cool red center. This was definitely rare, the steak was cold, and some of it was so rare that it was actually blue. It could have been fixed but when Scott did come back he talked so fast that when I tried to tell him I could not get a word in, he was done with us (wanted to get back to BS with the other servers) and he again abruptly walked away. I just pushed all the steak aside and ate my $18 bowl of lettuce and vegetables. He asked if I was finished and if I wanted a box but what he didn’t do was what any good server would do, ask if there was something wrong with the steak. When the whole steak is sitting there and you do not want a box that’s kind of a big hint. I didn’t tell him because at that point I had just given up, I could not say anything anyway because of how rushed he made us feel and interrupted every time we tried to talk. Have you ever had someone keep saying okay and trying to walk away as soon as there is a pause in your sentence? because that is what he would do if we tried to talk. In the beginning, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and said well maybe he is in the weeds. But then I saw him with the other staff, just standing there and walking by our table over and over again to try to get us out of there and it continued to get worse. I later learned (after asking another staff member) that he only had one other table aside from us and that was a party of 5. My husband got the fish and chips, upgrading to the cod, and he said the fish was fantastic. My brother ordered a burger and had no complaints. This meal could have went so much different had the service been even just mediocre but Scott made it to where we will not be back. I could even overlook the loud party in the back with their kids running around had my steak been addressed and the service been better. I prefer service and atmosphere over food. Great service can actually make the experience so good that it sets the mind to believe that the food is better than it is. Bad service can make the experience so bad that even the best food will leave a bad taste. Leaving and feeling like you just threw money out the window and having to eat again an hour later can ruin the night. We all always tip 20 to 30% as long as the server makes you feel welcome but Scott was not about to get that, I am even mad that we left him anything after sleeping on it. I hope Scott gets the tips he deserves and trust me when I say that if he does it will not even leave him enough gas money...
Read moreWent there for a date night. Was there very early around 545 and there was about 25 minute wait. When we sat down the waitress appeared overwhelmed and unhappy. We ordered water at first as we were looking at the drink menu. It took the waitress Tammy 10 minutes to come back to the table. We heard the table behind us tell her that she charged them for someone else’s order so she had to resolve that on their credit card. She wasn’t apologetic and seemed to be more annoyed. Finally after almost leaving due to no service she came back. I wanted a substitute on my order of crab cake and fried shrimp as I didn’t like fried shrimp but she really didn’t give me an alternative. After we orders the salad came out pretty quick. Then the food. We had wanted to order drinks but due to waiting so long we originally decided not to because we were upset with the waitress. Then when we got dinner we changed our mind. When we asked the waitress for a drink menu her response was “let me go dig out a menu”. We ignored the rude comment and still ordered drinks. My husbands food and drink was great, mine was not. While we were eating, a large party that split into booths arrived. She took care of them and even gave them bread. We had assumed you all no longer offered that and were surprised to see them get it. After dinner we ordered deserts to go, peanut butter pie and the apple pie. We were excited for the apple pie because of the cinnamon ice cream. We were excited for got plain vanilla. When asked she said they no longer offer it as they can’t get it in. That would have been nice to know because getting it. We waited a long time to get cashed out. Overall this was a terrible experience. I would not recommend going back especially if Tammy is...
Read moreI'll put this nicely without saying the F-word. It's our 18th wedding anniversary and we started with a great cup of HOT coffee a pleasant and courteous waiter Alex, who kindly took a couple of pictures of my husband and I. We then ordered a couple of appetizers, escargot an stuffed mushrooms. Unfortunately we had to send the mushrooms back because they were COLD. THE APPS WERE GOOD. Then dinner came which was The San Francisco Platter and the Sword fish/ Side Crab Legs. Guess What? COLD, COLD, COLD. I didn't have the heart to tell my husband that I was disappointed and very dissatisfied. I'm so looking forward to dessert. We both order Cheesecake w/blueberries. Can't wait. Alex came back to the table 2 minutes later, GUESS WHAT¿? Cheesecake is too frozen to eat!!!! Now I've had it, I'M DONE!!! My husband paid the check and took very good care of Alex. Me? Well I went into the kitchen to let the "chef" know how I felt. First of all he had NO Chef jacket on. Cut off blue-jean greasy shorts and black T-shirt, hair all a mess (no hat) and a beard w/2 braids on each side and beads on the ends. He couldn't have been any older than 25. I also didn't see any kind of hair or beard net which I BELIEVE IS REQUIRED BY LAW!!! Anyway, I told the Chef nicely, YES NICELY, exactly how I felt and honestly he couldn't have cared less. We traveled 3 hours total on this Special Day and Unfortunately our experience did not meet our expectations and was a total disappointment. I HOPE UPPER MANAGEMENT READS THIS, TAKES APPROPRIATE ACTION BECAUSE TONIGHT'S MANAGER HAS ALLOWED YOUR RESERAUNTS STANDARDS FALL...
