Hibachi Grill Review – A Family-Friendly Buffet Experience

If you’re looking for a place where everyone in the family can enjoy a hearty meal without spending a fortune, Hibachi Grill is one of the best options around. It offers an overall experience that blends variety, affordability, and a casual atmosphere, making it a reliable go-to spot for family gatherings, casual dinners, or even group outings. While the food quality may not be Michelin-star level, the sheer range of choices and the value for the price more than make up for it.

One of the biggest highlights of Hibachi Grill is its impressive buffet selection. The spread truly caters to every taste. Whether you’re craving fresh sushi, sizzling hibachi, flavorful Asian stir-fries, seafood dishes, or classic American comfort foods, there’s something for everyone. This variety is what makes it such a hit with families, especially when dining with picky eaters or larger groups. Kids can enjoy familiar favorites like fried chicken, pizza, or fries, while adults can indulge in seafood, noodles, or freshly grilled hibachi plates. The ability to go back for multiple servings ensures that no one leaves hungry.

In terms of value, Hibachi Grill shines. The pricing is very reasonable considering the sheer amount of food available. Compared to ordering individual entrées at a sit-down restaurant, the buffet offers the freedom to try many different dishes at a fraction of the cost. This makes it an excellent choice for those who want to enjoy a feast without breaking the bank. Families, especially, find this balance of price and variety hard to beat.

Of course, no restaurant is perfect. During peak hours, the restaurant can feel quite crowded. Lines can form around the hibachi station, and some of the more popular buffet items might run out temporarily. That said, the staff does a good job of keeping things moving. Plates are cleared promptly, and empty trays are usually refilled quickly. The servers are attentive enough to ensure that drinks are topped off and that the dining area remains clean despite the rush of guests.

The atmosphere is casual, fun, and unpretentious. Hibachi Grill isn’t about fine dining or elegant presentation—it’s about enjoying good food in a lively, welcoming environment. The open buffet setup creates an energy that feels family-oriented, with people happily going back and forth to explore new dishes. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, laugh with family, and not worry too much about formalities.

In short, Hibachi Grill is a great value dining option for anyone seeking variety, affordability, and a relaxed environment. While the food quality might not be top-tier, the wide selection ensures that everyone finds something they enjoy. It’s perfect for families, groups, and anyone who wants a no-fuss, satisfying meal with plenty of choices. If you want an easy, enjoyable dining experience where quantity and variety meet affordability, Hibachi Grill...

If you're in the Edison, South Plainfield, or Piscataway area and searching for an affordable, no-frills Asian buffet experience, Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet is worth a visit. Located conveniently near the ShopRite on Oak Tree Road, this buffet offers a wide variety of Asian dishes with a particular focus on Chinese cuisine.

Upon entering, you'll notice the space is a bit congested, especially during peak hours. The popularity of the buffet often leads to a crowded environment, which can feel overwhelming at times. However, if you're willing to overlook the cramped setting, you'll find a diverse selection of dishes that cater to a range of tastes.

The buffet spread is extensive, featuring a variety of soups, appetizers, and entrees. You'll find staple Chinese dishes alongside other Asian-inspired options, with plenty of chicken, beef, seafood, and vegetarian choices. The quality of the food is what you might expect from a budget buffet—satisfying but not exceptional.

One of the highlights of Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet is the live Hibachi station. Here, you can customize your meal by selecting from a variety of meats, including chicken, beef, shrimp, goat, and even crab. You can also add vegetables, eggs, and noodles to your plate. The chef prepares your selections on the spot, using your choice of sauces and spices. It's a fun, interactive experience that adds a fresh element to the buffet.

The dessert section is typical of what you'd find at similar buffets, with options like cakes, cookies, and ice cream. While the dessert variety isn't vast, it provides a sweet ending to your meal.

As for the dining experience, the ambiance is functional but far from luxurious. The seating can feel a bit cramped, and the overall decor is basic. You might find some of the utensils and cups to be less than ideal, with plastic cups being a common sight. However, these minor inconveniences are balanced by the buffet's affordability.

Prices vary between lunch and dinner, with the dinner menu offering a slightly more extensive selection. Overall, Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet provides good value for money, making it a popular choice for those looking for a budget-friendly dining option in the Edison area. If you're not expecting fine dining and are simply looking for a place to satisfy your craving for a wide variety of Asian dishes, this...

So unfortunately Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet lost a customer today over 3 dollars. I took my boys for lunch today. As I was greeted at the door, I was asked how old my children are and replied 8 & 10. Then they showed us to our table. After our meal, I was given our check and noticed they charged me incorrectly. When I asked for my check to be modified, the waitress went and came back… and I was told to go see the manger at the front. I asked if the manager could come to our table. The manager came over and to my suprise, it was the same woman who sat us and asked for their ages. She went on to explain that if a child is over 5ft they would be charged an adult price. It was a recent change in the restaurants policy. I told her that the receipt doesn’t say that, it simply says the ages (7-10yrs would be a child’s price) and that it’s not my fault that my son happens to be tall. He is in fact 10 years old and can check his birthdate. I also said that if they are seeing more and more children who happen to be 10 but can eat like adults, they should just lower their age bracket or leave it up to height, it’s misleading. the waitresses around started to agree with me, and apparently after speaking to some tables around me have also encountered a similar situation because of their tall 9/10 year olds. The problem isn’t the $3 dollars I paid extra for. The problem is “The Manager” should have let me known during the time she sat us. She shouldn’t have even asked for their ages, but instead their height. This just doesn’t seem right. If anything change my check and explain that this would be a courtesy but she would have to charge for next time. Instead, she tossed the check on the table and walked away as if there was nothing she could do. Terrible management.… this is why I will...

EHH the food was OKish especially for the price, it was nothing too fancy or special just basic. I would say the customer service was OKish as well. There were a few things that caught my eye about this place, which was a little uncomfortable, but not a great deal of discomfort was felt. First, there was a man standing at the entrance staring at me strange, we did assume he worked there and they may have not believed me when I told them my toddlers age. I only assumed that was the reason for the weird vibe because I did have situations where I will go somewhere with my child that charges based off of age and because of her size she doesn’t look her age so I just brushed it off. Second, the restaurant seems very outdated, and because of past reviews, talking about roaches and family members that I know, talked about their history of roaches, I was a little unease but whatever. And lastly, the customer service was pretty basic, but what I found weird was when it came time for me to pay the bill. I’ve only paid the amount that was on the receipt because I did not have a good time at the buffet and after handing this receipt back, I am also assuming because I did not tip that was the reason why the whole entire vibe with the women behind the desk changed towards me very quick as if they were disappointed or mad about the tip. But bottom line, even if my assumptions were not true i can pick up on vibes/energy very easily and the energy should not have a shift after certain actions and responses were given by me.
