"Trust the reviews."
I really wish I had paid more attention to the reviews earlier. There were two ladies at this location, neither of whom seemed to understand English, but that's fine; I've been to places where the staff didn’t speak English. My main issue, though, was with the lady who attended to me—she didn’t even try to work with me.
She made faces at everything I asked.
As soon as my name was called, I asked if the code I had would work. Instead of confirming, she just proceeded to charge me for a haircut that I hadn’t received yet.
Then, she took me to the chair where she had just cut someone’s hair, so there were clippings everywhere.
When I sat down, she realized the chair needed cleaning, so she asked me to stand while she quickly wiped it down. Fine. Then, she used the same cover she had just used on the previous client (not ideal, but whatever). The cover was full of hair and resting right on my face. I kindly asked if she could change it. She made a face, said it was “just hair,” and shook the cloth off a bit.
When it came time for the haircut, She printed out my last hair cut sizes, but when I asked for something a little different, she looked visibly annoyed, muttering something like “I don’t know, I don’t know.”
Fine, we moved on, but the entire time she cut my hair, she was heavily sighing. Every time I asked a question, she seemed angrier.
Finally, after finishing the cut, she asked how it looked. I politely asked if she could trim just a small area. She literally snipped scissors One Time (literally single snip) then immediately took off my hair cover and said, “Done, sweetie.”
Honestly, it was the worst experience I've ever had at any salon.
I will never be...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst experience I’ve ever encountered in a salon 8/5/23. The first experience I had when I took my son (8 years old) was a good one. So naturally, I took my son there again. The location is ideal, because it’s right next door to his Tae Kwon Do studio. However, the stylist my son unluckily got was and is completely incompetent. She confirmed the last hair cut details with me and I asked for one small adjustment to make the top shorter then last time with scissors. She nodded and said ok! She did not fade my sons hair and then took it upon herself to BUZZ my sons entire head without consulting me. This was not what was done the last time. Obviously what was done is done and unable to correct the mess she did to my sons poor head. She then asked another stylist to come and finish because she did not know how. No owner or manager present. No one offered an apology or any service recovery after I stated this is not what we spoke about or wanted. I expressed my unhappiness and the stylist who finished my sons cut, charged me. Super displeased by the entire experience. I should have not paid or tipped, but I did because I felt like I did not have a choice considering the second stylist tried his best to correct the error of the first stylist. I’m not one to complain or write reviews like this, but I’m so frustrated and feel unheard. Zero accountability for their lack of professionalism. The stylist do not know how to troubleshoot or effectively communicate with their clients and or customers. Beware of this terrible place! Apparently there isn’t an owner who cares enough to be at their own business or leave someone in charge to supervise. Supper...
Read moreI am a regular customer at Great clips south plainfield. I am normally a very patient customer and typically give enough benefit of doubt / mistakes to a service provider considering every one is human and i should instruct better to get the right service.
I have had 3 - 4 occasions with Roopa (clipper) and have also tried to give her a benefit of doubt after a shoddy job everytime. Each time I have given her polite feedback on what I would need for next time.
Last time she had shaved my son's forehead giving him a very awkward hairline and I had provided her the feedback on the same.
However, today's instance she completed blew me off. During my Son's haircut, I went to her, ahead of the haircut, and categorically told her that she should not shave his forehead and keep the hairline as is (natural). To my surprise, in about 10 mins of haircut, I see her using the machine to chop off my son's natural hairline and shaving it to create the same awkward hairline.
As soon as I approached her to explain her that I never wanted her to do that, she had the audacity to be extremely rude and started to misbehave.
This is the most ridiculous service i have very seen and of Couse the most pathetic service provider.
I am not going to be visiting great clips south plainfield ever again, but still wanted to leave the above feedback with you such that you can atleast help your remaining...
