House Of Falafel — Restaurant in South Plainfield

I have been a customer of this restaurant for more than 10 years. I loved their hummus their falafel their Shawarma everything was perfection. I just spent over $50 with door Dash to get food delivered. It’s all in the garbage. The hummus was swimming in oil, had a gloppy overly processed texture & tasted of mayonnaise- I HATE mayo. The Shawarma was dry and the lettuce brown and tomatoes tasted almost spoiled. I then tried the grape leaves and spit one out because it was swimming in oil had very little filling and it was just a disgusting meal. I know that many restaurants have lost their regular help but I will not be ordering from here again. It was the worst meal I’ve had in sometime. We visited this location for the first time today for a takeout. The person who took our order was very welcoming. We decided to place an order for one order only because we weren’t sure if we did like it but after getting home & taking the first bite I must say it was pretty good. We ordered the mixed platter and pita bread. The rice was very well flavored and so were the chicken & lamb kebab. I personally preferred the lamb to the chicken but I’m generally not a chicken person. I didn’t get to try the beef since we substituted it for extra chicken and beef but I will next time. The best place ever for falafel! I live in michigan and there are so many shops for falafel and shwarma- but this place is far above. The falafel is to die for. I still sometimes miss jersey just for this place ! My boyfriend never really tries new food and loved it- he even ate the fattoush! This place is obviously amazing if it can make the pickiest eater love everything on the menu! Some seating on inside has old mom and pop diner feels too it which i love.
