My friend and I came in tonight for dinner and had an ok time I suppose. It took us 20 minutes to get our drinks and then we didn’t see our server again until 30 minutes later when I had to go find her because I didn’t like my drink which was highly unfortunate. My second drink and my friends drink were absolutely delicious! A manager brought out our food and our server never came to check on us to see how things were. We needed more salad dressing and my second drink had been MIA for another 30 or so minutes. A kind server with long brown hair in a low pony tail with a pink shirt brought me out drink after watching me look around the restaurant for a long period of time. She then also brought my friend more dressing in a minute or two tops. She did an incredible job with her tables, was extremely attentive and so kind to also help us seems how we no longer had a server. When our server finally did come back she barley made it it our table and asked how things were when we had about a bite of food left and I said “yeah but” and she had already taken off I didn’t even get a word in, and this is the only time she had come by without me hunting her down since we arrived mind you this is two hours into our dinner. I would have loved dessert and a second drink but we had nobody tending to us and we had been there far too long already. My friend got a to go dessert which yet again a manager brought out because they had asked her if she were waiting for something because she was standing there forever after we had already paid. To sum it up our server was AWFUL we never even caught her name but she had short blonde hair. Everyone else from the host to the brunette server in the same section and the two managers we interacted with were amazing! And the food was really good. I just wish our server had done her job we would have had more to eat/ drink and would’ve been there half the time. However the dessert came out an absolute disaster and tasted horrible so I really wish we had spoken to a manager while there but my infant was upset after being in a restaurant almost two and a half hours and we really needed to go and we didn’t open the dessert until...
Read moreMy husband and I visited Sea Dog last night for one final visit before our mug club membership ended hoping to be convinced that we should renew. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We sat at the bar which had a max of 8 other customers at it and waited for 12 minutes before we were finally greeted and served drinks. The spinach and artichoke dip appetizer was really good but our dinners were rough. My beer burger sub chicken (which has been my go-to) was horrible. The chicken was weirdly rubbery but not super dry, like maybe it was cooked from frozen? It was inedible. The size of the chicken breast was super small; it was maybe half the size of the bun. The Caesar salad side was also disappointing. For some reason, the iceberg lettuce was shredded like it would be for tacos. Definitely not appropriate for a side salad. My husband’s grilled street corn salad with chicken was better than mine but still featured finely shredded lettuce, mediocre chicken, and was lacking the acidity promised in the garlic lime dressing. After giving up on our food, we waited at least 20 minutes during which the bartender was not behind the bar and the manager was busy making the slowest two martinis I’ve ever seen before being able to flag down the manager for a check. This was our last month in the mug club and the bartender didn’t suggest renewing the subscription, let alone mention the mug club Monday event coming up or talk up next month’s beer release. We wanted to cash out all our benefits from the club so we got help picking our free t-shirts from the manager. He scanned our cards and also did not suggest renewing our mug club membership. Overall this place is so mismanaged it’s insane. Slow service and inconsistent food, plus a mug club program with poorly explained perks, minimal communication about events, and...
Read moreHad the lobster feast and my wife had the lobster roll and crab roll. We had a few beers and appetizers and shared a dessert with coffee. The food was good, not great but did the job. Our bill was around $150.00. Service was poor from the beginning and questioned our decision as soon as we entered. Our hotel advised us to go to another place on the other side of the river. When we walked into to Sea Dogs, the staff didn’t great us with a welcome but asked, “How many?” We said “two, and we would like to be outside if possible.” She then proceeded to walk so we followed. We gave the waitress our dink order but they were out of the beer we wanted so we selected another beer. We each ordered a soup but later we were told they were out so they substituted it with another. The appetizers came out quickly and soon our table had to much on it we could hardly move. We were brought out extra beers that were ordered but the empty glasses weren’t taken away, nor were our soup bowls. After about 10 minutes we decided to move the empties to an empty table. Thank goodness most tables were empty this evening. We noticed the wait staff sitting around talking to each other and we joking said the place must be staffed by sorority sisters. We ate our dessert with empty beer glasses and and empty plate still on the table. These items were empty when the desserts were served. Next time I’m in Maine, which will be in October. We will take the advice of the hotel and go across the river to High Tides. Sea Dog was great when I went a few years ago but I won’t be back. We left just a $25 tip which I now regret. The place is poorly managed and from the emptiness of the place, it appears most know that the glory days have...
