During our visit to Salt Lake City, we had the pleasure of exploring Grid City Beerworks, and it turned out to be a delightful experience filled with flavorful craft beers and tasty dishes. Nestled in the heart of the city, this brewery and eatery offered a welcoming atmosphere and a diverse menu that appealed to our palates.
To start our culinary journey, we ordered the Crudité with Hummus, which featured fresh, vibrant vegetables accompanied by a creamy and flavorful hummus dip. It served as a refreshing and light appetizer that whet our appetite for what was to come.
Moving on to the main course, we tried the Rice Bowl with Fried Chicken. While the fried chicken was crispy and well-seasoned, we found that the chili sauce slightly overwhelmed the dish, masking some of the flavors. Nonetheless, the combination of textures and the savory nature of the chicken still made it an enjoyable option.
The Mac and Cheese at Grid City Beerworks offered a comforting and cheesy delight. However, we did encounter small bits of butter wrapper in the dish, which was a minor oversight. Despite this, the mac and cheese had a creamy consistency and was rich in flavor, making it a satisfying side dish.
One of the highlights of our visit was undoubtedly the selection of craft beers at Grid City Beerworks. We tried their Hazy IPA, and it was a hoppy and delicious brew that showcased the brewery's expertise in crafting flavorful beers. Each sip offered a burst of hoppy goodness, pleasing our taste buds and complementing the food we ordered.
The ambiance of Grid City Beerworks was laid-back and inviting, creating a casual and friendly atmosphere for enjoying good food and drinks. The attentive and friendly staff further enhanced our dining experience, providing knowledgeable recommendations and ensuring our needs were met.
While there were a couple of minor hiccups with the rice bowl and the Mac and Cheese, overall, our experience at Grid City Beerworks was enjoyable. The combination of flavorful craft beers, appetizing dishes, and a relaxed atmosphere made for a pleasant visit.
If you are a craft beer enthusiast looking for a vibrant brewery and eatery in Salt Lake City, Grid City Beerworks is worth a visit. Indulge in their hoppy brews and explore their menu, which offers a variety of flavorful options. Read moreBefore visiting GCBW, you could have chased me to New Jersey with most breweries’ version of a brown ale. New Jersey is an armpit, a cesspool, an aberration that should be burned to the ground and bulldozed into the Atlantic along with most of America’s brown ales. Grid City’s brown ale is an altogether different food group. It’s a heavenly concoction of chocolatey malt and pure joy effervescing on your palate.
Grid City’s Pale Ale rivals anything the British empire and its colonies have put forth and should be consumed with great gusto. Their House Pilsner will preposter your tastebuds and olfactory senses with its crisp, clean, yet full flavor.
There are many other flavors to choose from, including a wide assortment of award winning, high point seltzers. Dabble with reckless abandon; you can’t go wrong with anything Grid City brews.
As for the food, it’s simply stellar. Jeremy, Grid City’s brewmaster, also tends to the smoker. And sweet Jiminy Crickets, does Jeremy know how to smoke some meats. The smoked pastrami Reuben is hands down the best pastrami sandwich that can legally be served. If you’re a fan of the Reuben served at Feldman’s Deli, the Grid City Reuben will rearrange your foodie furniture and redecorate your mind space. And the Dino-Beef Rib will realign your chakras and transport you to a higher plane of existence.
Visiting Grid City will recalibrate your tastebuds by exposing you to truly great beer. If you find yourself reexamining your life choices and wondering why you never visited Grid City before, just remember that you can’t change the past, but you can create the future. The future is happening at Grid City....
Read moreGrid City is a newer addition to the downtown-adjacent neighborhood. Thankfully, unlike some spots further north in the heart of it, Grid City offers spacious parking lots which means you won’t need to circle the block.
The beer is a fresh new take for Utahns accustomed to the likes of Epic and the more standard fare of Wasatch and Squatters; Grid City offers nitro as well as carbonated on tap, though their carbonated beverages lack the same pop of what you would expect—lighter carbonations makes the texture of the beer more silky and similar to nitro, while providing a little depth to the glass. For some, it may be more flat than is preferable, but it is interesting none the less.
Similarly to the peers mentioned above, Grid City offers a set list of classics from the label that are ever-present on the menu, as well as seasonal and special rotations. This is truly where Grid City shines, with concoctions the likes of Double Chocolate Cherry Truffle brown ale, Ghost Pepper Mango pale ale, and others.
Their menu also offers some standard pub fare such as fish and chips as well as burgers. The food is a cut above what would be expected of a new kid on the block, and was well worth the price. Service was friendly, knowledgeable, and accomodating. It makes an experience much better being able to share passion of the product and process with the folks involved.
This location is easily accessible, with good parking availability, ample seating, good food and interesting beer that is a departure from what Utahns are accustomed to. Certainly...
