IHOP — Restaurant in South Salt Lake

How this place has even a 3.7 is beyond me. My family and I came here after a night out. This is the second time we have been to this location. Just horrible both times. The first time our server was just rude. But this time takes the pancake. We came in just after midnight. Sat in the waiting area for 30+ minutes after being told it would be 10-15 minutes. Mind you they are not busy there was three family's two of them being two people and one a family of six. All of them done with there food! Just having a nice conversation. We finally get seated get our drinks ordered. Look at the menu and order all with in five minutes. All very easy things pancakes, sandwich, chicken fingers. We sat for another 30 minutes. People keep coming in waiting in the waiting area trying to get anyone to notice them. Our food comes out. My food suppose to have sauce didn't have an on it. Least of my worries. Will we are eating we watch more people come sit down in the waiting area. The families that had been there when we got there all left. One of the pairs standing by the front waiting to pay for 20 minutes. One person from my party tried calling the restaurant just to get some attention. Didn't work just rang continuously. I guess having a conversation with the cook is more important then customers? We heard plenty of there conversation now if only we spoke Spanish we could of known what was so exciting in the kitchen. Anytime someone was lucky to get the serves attention mainly the female they where told it would be 15-20 minutes for any and all food items. That is horrible. We where the only people sat at that time and we had our food and had ate it all. So why such a long time? How this place is still in business I will never know. Must have some good morning staff to keep the ratings up I guess. By the time we left they had five people waiting and being told it would be 15-20 minutes. I will never come to this ihop again. The food isn't worth it and the way the night staff treats people...

I work in a restaurant all day and sometimes I like to go out and eat instead of cooking dinner. Last time we came to this IHOP location we had a server named Mac. Big Mac he called himself he was fun, friendly, and attentive to our needs. Five stars for mac!!!This time however was hands down the worst experience I have had. Our server Peter is what the cook called him (though he was not wearing a tag) he has a pink streak in his hair though. Sat and talked to someone while we waited up front for 5 minutes no one even greeted us to say hi I'll be with you. (They werent even busy)I fake coughed to get his attention and was still ignored for 3 more minutes before we were sat. We got sat and got our drinks pretty quick. But once we said we only needed one extra minute to order he sat down to text in clear view of where I was sitting then had a 5 minute conversation with the braided blonde (who could also use better people skills) before taking our order. Once our order was placed we patiently waited while our food grew cold in the cooks window. (I can see straight in) the food sat for 6 minutes before I asked the cute brunette to bring our food out to us. She sent Peter to do it with took extra time. My eggs were sweaty and my hashbrowns were cold and my banana pancakes were like mush in the middle because they sat too long. He then brought our food and never checked up on us until he brought a check and asked we were ok dropped the check and sat back down to play on his phone. If I could rate 0 stars on this kid I totally would. Never would I ever let my employees treat guests this way in my establishment this was...

If I could give this location zero stars I would. Worst service I’ve had in a restaurant ever. We came in around 2:30am and sat there for a good 20 minutes before we were even greeted. There was a girl sweeping around the host stand that didn’t even awknowledge us. Finally she came over and asked if we had been helped... obviously we hadn’t been helped yet. She sat us down and didn’t ask for our drinks or anything. Every table in the restaurant was dirty including the one she sat us at. There were only two other tables in there at the time and it took our waitress another 15 minutes to even get to us to ask our drinks. She took forever to bring them to us and we had been ready to order the whole time. We ordered our food and it took over an hour. We got our food around 4:45am. Looking back I’m not sure why we just didn’t leave but we were just so hungry. When she brought our food out she took it to the wrong table, and when we finally got it everything was ice cold and my French toast was rubbery like it had been sitting in the window forever. We are quickly and asked for our check which our server was also slow to give us. I’ve worked in many restaurants and know how important it is to tip, but that night I didn’t tip at all. On top of it all, there were many workers in there. Some just sitting talking and others doing side work not even trying to help the one server on the floor, not even trying to clean her dirty tables. I don’t know what these people were thinking, obviously they don’t know how to run a restaurant. Overall, this was definitely the worst experience...
