I am not usually the person to leave negative reviews if the food was not satisfying or such, I work in food industry after all. But I am vegetarian and specially ask if they cook there food without meat type broth, as I was ordering tofu mushroom, the person at the counter told me we don't. And I tried to confirm again just to make sure because I know that sometimes someone can mistakenly miss understand what I'm trying to say. So they said they don't, so I ordered the food, with vegetable fried rice, not to my surprise the fryed rice was pretty okay, but the minute I opened the mushroom tofu plat I could smell chicken broth, I thought, it will be okay let me try it and not to my surprise it did. I'm leaving this review because I just wasted money, and I also broke my vegetarian oath. And I hate this restaurant because they did not state they use meat broth. I really understand how many people like it, and how it's a staple in many restaurants. But please understand some people have an oath or dietary reason for not eating meat food. Overall the taste of the food is good, but really shame on this. You can't be a front cashier unless if you do know that certain people when they ask something very specific like being vegetarian it isn't like mistakenly getting ice in your soda when you order it...
Read morewe two thought this restaurant has a nice decoration outside and it should be a good one. we ordered “Guifei Chicken”, which was not good, not in whole pieces for each sliced one. The second order was beef with bones, but it tasted lamb at beginning, then beef, it must cross contaminated during cooking or preparation. our third order was Dry fry of rice noodle, but the texture is boiled. I believe everyone got a free hot and sour soup which is strangely oily. we tried not to complain, but determined we would never come back. we spent $50for this lunch. Viewing the bill, $15% Service Charge was enforced plus tax for this 15% and tax for your order. We asked what this was, answered tip. but bill has a space for tip. we asked why, answered no one pay tips, so our system set up the automatic charge for tip. Now we understand why people do not want to pay tips because the food...
Read moreWith an encyclopaedic menu that spans everything from live seafood to Chinese bbq, it’s good to know what to order at this brightly decorated, very reasonably priced Cantonese restaurant.
I’ve never been to a place with just a clay pot section, and an extensive one for that matter: the sizzling chicken and the roast pork with oyster were generous in portions and served in a comforting brown sauce. The pea sprouts with garlic were sautéed to perfection.
However, the deep fried items (seafood included) were tasty, but left us yearning for a bit more of the flavor. The ginger crab could have been more gingery, the fried chicken wings a little more salty, and the salt and pepper prawns just a bit more spicy.
The place is definitely worth coming back to, and with time, likely to grasp the truly...
