I love dennys! But this place has to try harder. (I hate to say that)... Im from socal and just moved to SF. This is the only Dennys in the area so I went. I was debating whether to go or not because it was miday on Sunday and at least in socal, diners are packed all day during weekends. I drove 20 mins, worried about how long the wait-time would be, but when I got there they were more than half empty, at 1pm. They sat me down immediately and took awhile to come back for my order. It seemed, no matter how empty it was, they were still slow. They had several employees, a different one helping me each time (1 taking my order, 1 bringing my food, another with utensils). Seemed very unorganized. Its just astonishing seeing how unorganized and slow they were when it clearly wasnt rush time. Another negative thing I noticed, was they were mopping right next to me while I ate. It was miday... couldnt they wait untill it was nearer to closing time or when there wasnt a customer eating food right there? Another thing which could be both negative or thoughtful gesture, was they brought me a leftover container and my check before I even asked for it and when I was only halfway done eating. Sometimes thats a nice gesture when the restaurant is packed and the server is overwhelmed with guests, but as I will mention again, the place was more than half empty. If the server was going on break or leaving, it wouldve been more professional to ask another server to take over. Adding on to the bad service, I also noticed the few times I was asked if I needed anything else, it was a rushed question while the server was walking by. Most of the time I didnt know they were talking to me because why would you walk past me if you were asking me something? Servers usually do that when they dont actually want you to ask for anything more. I am usually very nice in my reviews, but it is insane that the serviced sucked... and it WASNT EVEN BUSY. These servers would not make it in socal diners.
Food was regular dennys food, love it! It was not cold, but noticeably not fresh. Each dennys is a hit or miss, what makes up for it is the quality of service and this place was disappointing. I hope I dont have to go back but it is the only one in...
Read moreWe went to Denny’s for dinner and they were not busy but we stood and waited to be seated. There were three people at the register and I had to ask to be seated. First of all I am not racist but the whole place was suspicious. The food was awful we ordered appetizers and when the person brought them out he did not bring any plates I had to get up to ask for plates and there was a child there helping out who was a much better server than the waitress who we only saw twice we all ordered drinks an ice tea a coke and a chocolate milkshake we order milkshakes all the time and they bring you the glass and silver mixing cup as well he only got the glass I spilled my whole cup of ice and coke in my lap and my daughter had to go get me napkins no one came to help clean up and I had to send her to the counter to get me another coke because she never brought refills or even water then to add insult to injury my daughter ordered pancakes to go we sat and waited and waited so we finally got up and went to the front where the cook was chitchatting away and had not even started making her pancakes yet I was so upset then they started speaking Spanish well that was it for me if you don’t want to work or you don’t like restaurant work but bring your kid in to work for you I think it’s time to find a new job I left a 2 dollar tip and I was sorry I did that after waiting at the door for pancakes I could not identify one employee there because no one was wearing a uniform the whole place was suspicious someone needs to investigate this Dennys HORRIBLE and maybe...
Read moreWe decided to stop by Denny’s for a quick snack before heading to the airport, but the experience was disappointing. We ordered two coffees, a fruit cup., And a “BERRY VANILLA CREPE BREAKFAST”. We went with this meal because it’s $10.29 for the on with 2 crepes. in the picture you can see clearly it’s saying that this breakfast includes eggs, hash browns, and two slices of bacon. Since we weren’t very hungry, we chose to share this meal to avoid spending $15 or $18 on a full meal. However, when the meal arrived, it was surprisingly small, the hash brown amount specifically was so little, which was fortunate given the price.
When we received the bill, we were shocked to find that the coffees were $4.70 each, the crepe meal was $18, and the fruit cup was $5.70, totaling nearly $40 for what was supposed to be a snack. Besides the coffee and the fruit cup being way waaaaay overpriced. The meal price in particular was very confusing for us. When I questioned them, why that meal costing me $18 instead of $10.29, they said that the price is for the crepe ONLY. but not as a breakfast even though clearly the pricing say “crepe breakfast.”
The service was good, and the staff were very friendly, but the overpricing is unacceptable. We expected a chain like Denny’s to be more affordable than local businesses, but it seems the opposite is true. We will not be returning to Denny’s again and will continue to support local businesses where we can trust the quality...
