For context, I have placed large orders at the Hayward location and have consistently had a positive experience. That was not the case during my first visit at this location.
I placed an order on the app a day in advance in preparation for an important work event. I arrived 10 minutes after the designated pickup time, and well ahead of my event. The order was confirmed on the app as well.
When I approached the pickup counter and asked about my order, they were surprised and completely unaware of the order. I was told it would be 5-10 minutes. I waited 10 minutes and only received 3/4 coffee carafes, and 0/4 dozen donut boxes. When I asked about the rest of my order, they seemed surprised again. Again I was informed it would be a few minutes. I asked if they were sure because I needed to get going. I was assured they’d get me the rest of my order asap. 10 more minutes go by, and upon asking for the rest of my order, I’m told it hasn’t even been started yet.
I understand being swamped, and only fault the frazzled and clearly overworked employees with poor communication. However whoever is managing this location needs to figure out their DoorDash vs online order vs in person prioritization systems. It makes no sense to have an order ahead option if there’s no guarantee of fulfillment and if the employees don’t have the capacity to fulfill orders for all 3 systems at the same time.
Unfortunately that’s the last time I’ll be visiting this location. Thankfully Donut King came through on the spot, and I was able to feed a large...

So I finally got to try Dunkin Donuts and was not impressed. There were only 2 people inside eating and having coffee so this should’ve been a red flag.
Tons of staff behind the counter and, guess what? Only 1 cashier. So they really need to work on that one.
On to the Donuts and coffee...donuts were not fresh at all. Were not moist and soft. All the Donuts were cold, hard and chewy like they’ve been sitting and left to rot. I don’t know about everyone else but, if I’m having a sweet donut my coffee should be rich and flavorful. Dunkin’s coffee was so watered down you might almost see the bottom of the cup before adding cream!
I really can’t think of any bright spots or any reason to return. Maybe it’s the location that’s not doing a very good job? But, even Yelp has this Dunkin rated at 2.5 stars, I’m the type that had to see for myself.
Do yourself a favor and skip this spot for your fast food doughnut fix. Go the extra mile or so and try Rolling Pin doughnuts...
Read moreI have heard the hype if all that is Dunkin, I have had some of their coffee, I have had a donut from them before. It was all with in the specs of being pretty good. My focus is on the actual restaurant.
It is reasonably clean, it is a donut shop after all and the customers are in and out most of the time. The service was quick, a bonus in my book when you are needing to in and out to get to work. Large selection of merchandise that is somewhat disable from the customers section, hard to see the stock and harder to track the selection. Free Wi-Fi and a decent bathroom. There is lots of seating and the location of on 101 close the airport is a bonus.
Overall it was a 5 star for me as I feel it was a decent shop that offered a good product. The service was great and quick. Could the beef up on their interior or cleanliness, yes, but it is a donut shop after all. What am I...
