Ng's Cooking — Restaurant in South San Francisco

We ordered Ng's delivery through GrubHub. The food arrived forty minutes after the latest time given for estimated delivery- and we live less than ten minutes away. The food needed to be reheated when it was delivered. We decided to try delivery because parking at their SSF location induces deep misery. When they redesigned that shopping center they didn't include near enough parking spaces. I was excited to try the vegetarian steam buns. The steam buns themselves had a pleasant taste but the filling was an uninspired vegetable mix that I scooped out. They would be improved by using a vegetarian meat substitute and getting closer to the sweet pork taste found in the center of pork steam buns. The rice was acceptable but unremarkable. The orange chicken did not have much of an orange flavor and if someone had told me it was General Zho's chicken instead I would have believed them. The Kung Pao prawns were deveined, which is a good start. But for the price of the dish they shouldn't have been so lonely in amongst the sauce and the vegetables. In summary: passable Chinese food...

I LOVED THIS PLACE...! UNTIL THEY DID THE UNTHINKABLE...

We always get the General Tao's chicken from here. Just last week we walked in and got to-go. We sat down at a table to wait. Then we saw a cook walk out without a mask, turned up, saw us, then all of a sudden SNEEZED RIGHT ALL OVER THE COUNTER and ON TO THE TEAPOTS!!! I couldn't believe it!!?? And during this crazy time! He didn't care and sat at chair somewhere near us! I wish I had a video of this as it would probably go viral. I wouldn't care so much about the views but more of the safety of anyone else wanting to eat here.

I am boycotting this restaurant until things get closer to normalcy. I wish the owner would understand the gravity of the situation 😕. My wife was with me and we stayed outside instead. We grabbed our food from afar and will not be coming back here for a while. Support businesses I understand, but if they don't show any safety of others, why should we take a risk. Basically eat here at your own risk. I'd love to come, but now not...

The food: The food is flavorful! Everything we ordered (in the photos) is perfectly delicious. The Seafood Fried Rice includes a variety of ingredients and the fish roe adds to the fun factor and texture of it. The Beef Stew has a very tasty broth and the variety meats used in them are tender and chewy. The Braised Seafood with Tofu is out of this world! The flavors are delightful and the oysters are fresh. Sauce perfectly compliments all the ingredients. The Chow Mein is wonderful as well.

The service: They are definitely devoted to their craft and promise an excellent customer experience for all.
