I have a few places I go to when I get homesick for our food. Ongpin is one of them. Although, it is barely busy during dine-in, they have numerous take outs all the time.
Without a doubt, I always get the fried calamari and the sinigang! So let me tell you why…. • Calamari: I am very particular with my fried calamari but this restaurant has it all balanced out. The breeding is perfectly coated with the squid and that it doesn’t have too much flour. The sauce together with the food is another plus. Overall addicting! • Pork sinigang: It is rare that I do not ask for patis (fish sauce) whenever I eat sinigang because almost always most restaurants miss the sourness of this dish. Ongpin has gotten it down that I don’t even need the fish sauce to add to my dish. They have excellent portion of veggies as well. Honestly, only problem is that you cannot just have one bowl of rice. You would want more rice because it...
Read moreI just picked up my order online and I had a hard time with what the woman working at the place was saying because she kept telling me to confirm it in my phone and click the “red thing”, what is that red thing that she is saying, I can't see it, she took my phone and she couldn't see that red thing that she was talking about, then she told me to ask my co-worker, what does my co-worker have to do with me picking up the food that I ordered online. She’s so stupid! That woman should be fired because she is not good, I am used to ordering online and she will teach me what to do. Their service is very bad and they don't know how to assist their customers. This is my first and last order online pick-up in this area. if there is zero star that should be given to this restaurant. They should not deserve to be given even 1 star because of their terrible service. I will never return...

I perused the menu while customers walked in and out picking up to-go orders. There were so many delicious-sounding items on the menu, but I finally settled on sinigang. The gentleman who told me to pick a table was transfixed by his phone, and periodically sang along with the oldies tunes playing through the loudspeakers. It was impossible to make eye contact with him. A server walked toward me.... and right out the door. He returned moments later, and again walked right past me. A female server made eye contact, but nothing came of it. I closed my menu and set it aside—perhaps that was the signal servers were waiting for! I sat in an empty restaurant for fifteen minutes, none of the three servers ever approached my...
