Mexico Grill — Restaurant in Southaven

I went here because I’ve seen some shared post on Facebook about them opening. I got the tacos al pastor and we got a small cheese dip and my daughter got a beef taco with rice and beans. I took one bite out of the tacos al pastor and couldn’t eat anymore cause I was biting into hard gristle on the chicken from it being way overcooked and burnt, also didn’t have any such flavor of it being marinated like it stated on the menu. The rice and beans were awful tasting to me and my daughter is 2 and she always eats the rice and beans when we eat Mexican that’s her favorite part but she wouldn’t even eat that much of them. The salsa had a strong cumin taste and the cheese dip was okay but really watery. My daughter’s beef taco even tasted bad we ended up not eating any of the food really. The service was awesome though our waitress was very nice and helpful and the place has defiantly changed so much inside since it was Mi Pueblo. I just hope they can get the food situation under control I don’t think I’ll be back...

We have been passing this place and the parking lot was full and we had someone tell us that the food was good so we went to try it out. We should have known when there was only few cars in the parking lot that something was up. We go in and order our drinks and they bring our chips and salsa out and the chips were mostly just small pieces and not really fresh. We got the skinny margarita and a draft beer, the margarita was pretty good the beer was not very cold and tasted watered down. My wife ordered the combo fajitas, my son got the burrito bowl and I got the birria tacos. My son's bowl was the only thing that was kinda good. My wife's fajitas the meat was burned and what wasn't burned had no flavor. My tacos were so blan with no flavor and the broth was nothing but grease. I’ve been to plenty of spots here in Southaven, but Mexico Grill keeps me coming back again and again. The food is always seasoned to perfection, every bite is full of flavor, fresh, and clearly made with care.

The drinks are just as amazing! Their margaritas are refreshing and perfectly balanced, and they’ve got plenty of options whether you’re in the mood for a cocktail or something non-alcoholic.

The staff is another reason I love this place. They’re always so friendly, attentive, and welcoming, you really feel taken care of every time you eat here.
