Came in with friends and family. Got seated. Asked about the bread they usually have and they said they no longer serve it because customers complain about how long it takes. We then discussed what we wanted. I always let me wife tell me whatâs she wants and as a gentleman I order her food for her. I proceeded to order her food and the waitress cut me off and said âthatâs rude she can order for herself.â And I explained to her I always take her order. Even my wife explained. But she told me not to cut her off and asked my wife to take her order. It got to me to place my order and I asked if the plain pasta comes with sauce and she said no, but you can order it. I asked her how much it was for sauce and she said she didnât know. So I told her itâs okay Iâll get the cheese sticks instead. She then said that I was being rude because I cut her off for not letting me know the price of the sauce. She then brings my food out first before everyone and as a man I wait for my wife and her friends food to come. Which took about 30 minutes. So once they got their food my was mostly cold by then. I then ask for ketchup and she brings me this small barley filled cup of ketchup for my basket of fries. Take in mind I can see the other tables sheâs serving and is being attentive to but we all were ignored the whole time. She never refilled any of our drinks. Never came to ask if we were okay. We tell her weâre ready for the check. This takes about 30-45 minutes. She finally brings us the checks and set them on the table. Walks off goes behind the bar and starts talking on her phone. After we laid our cards out to pay. We then waited another 30 minutes for her to come grab the checks. By this time I was fed up. I brought the checks to her. Set them down. She then comes back and asked me âwhy did I set them down by herâ I said because I was ready to go. She said âwell thatâs not how it works her.â She then turns to my wife and tries to explain that she didnât know what check was which. There is only 2 checks. Me and my wifeâs food and her friends food. Also she took the order so you know what check is which. She then comes back and slams the receipt down on the table. And walks off. I AM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS LOCATION. It used to be so good and family friendly. Also the check had a 15% gratuity, so it doesnât matter how bad her service is she was going to get her %15 percent off the top. I never leave reviews but this was just unacceptable. I will be reaching out the owner today. Also the menâs restroom urinal was completely stopped up and flooded. You couldnât even walk in there without getting your...
Read moreI will begin this review by stating not all Juicy Seafood restaurants are created equal. We dined at this Southaven location yesterday and the food was a total disappointment, not in taste but in quantity.
Let me just start out by saying the crab cakes were good but they were about the size of a hush puppie! These were the smallest crab cakes I have ever been served in any restaurant across the US! We have dined several times at the Nashville location and they are much larger so that's what we were expecting. The same goes for the crab rangoons, they were good but very, very small. We also ordered corn as an extra side item. it comes with 3 ears of corn. We are normally served corn with our choice of sauce, which we always choose the Juicy special sauce. Our server didn't ask what kind of sauce so I told her what sauce we wanted and she said that will be an extra $1.00. Ok, no problem but when the order was delivered to us instead of the corn being tossed in the sauce as customary, it was served separately in a condiment dish. The sweet potato fries were plentiful but very bland. The margarita tasted straight from a mix and no alcohol added! Good thing we stopped in just for a small meal, which consisted of us ordering 2 appetizers each. We ended up stopping at another restaurant in Jackson, TN to eat again because we were all still hungry.
Our server, Markita, was wonderful. She was so nice, mannerly and attentive! Let me make that clear, I gave her 5 stars. Having said that leads me to another point and that is Juicy Seafood takes it upon themselves to automatically add a 15% tip to your check. We were a table of 3 so it's not because we had a large crowd. Neither me or my sisters noticed this and we also left a nice tip per each of our checks, therefore double tipping to the sum of what added up to a 40% tip on each check. This is a ridiculous policy that I have never encountered and I travel a lot and dine out very frequently.
Of all the restaurants available in Southaven, MS we chose this one?!! Yes, because we expected their standards to be the same as other locations which was definitely not the case. Do better, Juicy Seafood of...
Read moreI was initially so impressed with Juicy Seafood that I visited at least twice a month. The food has always been enjoyable, and I usually tip generously. However, I recently realized that a tip is automatically added to every ticket, regardless of the service received. This policy is not posted anywhere, so customers may unintentionally double-tip if they arenât aware.
Unfortunately, my most recent visit on 1/13/25 was by far the worst experience Iâve had there, and I will not be returning. Mia, our server, displayed a lack of effort and professionalism throughout the evening. Since the tip is guaranteed, there seemed to be no motivation for her to provide decent service.
From the start, the experience was frustrating. We waited nearly 15 minutes just to get drinks. While being seated, the hostess mentioned something about a previous table leaving without paying, implying poor attentiveness. This set the tone for the night. Throughout the meal, Mia was often seen chatting at the bar while we struggled to get her attention for basic requests like water refills.
I had a to-go order planned and even kept a menu to make it clear. Despite this, Mia never checked back to take the order, so I had to call it in myself while sitting at the table. Even then, I watched her retrieve the order over the phone as she was still at the bar chatting it up.
When I finally asked for the check and to-go bags, Mia returned promptlyâironically, the fastest response all evening. I even commented on how quick she was to collect payment compared to her service earlier. Sadly, I waited an additional 38 minutes for my to-go order, which never came. I approached the bartender (manager on duty), who tried to follow up but ultimately offered no solution or compensation he asked me to email the GM because the tip couldnât be removed.
The fact that a mandatory 15% tip is added for such poor service is extremely disappointing. Miaâs laziness and lack of attention ruined what used to be one of my favorite dining spots. Until this tipping policy is clearly posted and service standards improve, I cannot recommend Juicy Seafood...
