They only have one cashier at the checkout area, everything else is a self checkout station. So anyone who wants to make a return has to wait for that one person. I waited for 20+ minutes behind a woman whose items weren't showing up in their system when they tried to scan them so they had to send someone running around the store to find them. Finally it was my turn at the register and they were having the same problems with 2 separate orders. How does your software not recognize your own inventory?? I have never had this issue returning things at Michaels before, I don't know what the problem is with this store. I almost went to Waterbury but specifically made the trip to Southbury so I could run other errands that I didn't have time for after waiting 30+ minutes and having to leave without having my return processed. I asked them where twine was and where did everyone go. He indicated they were in the back.I also indicated I wanted to speak to a manager. After a wait a young lady appeared. Read moreI was recently shopping in the Michael’s location in Southbury Connecticut while I was on my way to New York. I stopped, just to purchase a few things, and was shocked at how neat clean and organized the store was ! All the workers were friendly and attentive to my questions. I even passed by who I believe was the store manager who helped me over in the custom framing area with the questions that I had. It was great to see a leader out on the floor, giving direction and helping customers which is something you don’t find in brick and mortar stores anymore. I will definitely be visiting the store again and will become my primary source of crafts and custom framing going forward. if I could give this store 10 stars I would.
