diVine Lounge — Restaurant in Southern Pines

Went here last night for their Grand Opening. The place had a great look but the service was completely lacking. My wife and I arrived around 8pm and most of the crowd had left so it wasn’t very busy. I got right up to the bar and waited, and waited, and waited... it was a full 14 minutes before the one bartender even acknowledged me and then another 7 minutes before she took my drink order. After waiting another 11 minutes I finally got the drink for my wife. I did receive a half-hearted and mechanical “sorry for the wait” since I’m sure the bartender knew that’s what she’s supposed to say. But, for a grand opening in a location where there are plenty other choices to have a drink I was expecting much better service and motivation. There was another woman standing behind the bar who had something to do with the business but I wasn’t sure what it was since she certainly wasn’t taking drink orders or helping out. Went for the first time the other night. The atmosphere is great and they clearly spared no expense on making it look great. The drinks were fine and opposite of what I heard the prices were more than fair. The bar is the best place to sit vs the large leather chairs which IMO are the wrong concept for that type of place but that’s just me. The only complaint I have is that they had an extra fee on the bill because I used a CC to pay. I was given all the reasons for this but I feel it’s short sighted to try and sneak in an extra charge for using what 90% of people pay with. If it was my biz I would do what most do and put it in the price of the product. Also, it is illegal to do so unless you post a sign that you surcharge when using a CC. Placing it on the bill does not pass the CC rules for surcharging. Other than that the...

This is the new spot. Absolutely love DiVine. They have great music, great aesthetics, and the cocktails are incredible. Last night we were there and watched the bartender masterfully handle a high volume bar while still attending to the sensibilities of each individual guest. This place attracts the right kind of people that adults like to be around. Order the XL charcuterie platter and tell the bartender what flavor profile you like.
