Read moreMy husband and I ordered a pizza form SoPies Friday, Jan 10th at 6pm. The waitress told us our order would be ready in a half hour. At 6:20 we showed up and paid for our pizza. The waitress told us our pizza wasn’t ready but to wait at the bar and they would call our name when our order was ready. At 6:45 I went to the cashier and asked if she knew when our pizza would be done. Another waitress passed by and said, “Yeah, they’ve been waiting a long time.” The cashier went to the ovens and picked a box off the top. I saw the box on top of the ovens when we walked in and then sat at the bar. It had been there for 25min. I asked if the pizza was now cold. They told me it was not. I asked them to leave the box open and put my hand over the pizza to check the temp. It was lukewarm from sitting on top of the oven. I took the pizza to the cashier; I explained when we first paid for our pizza she told us it was not done and to sit at the bar as they would call us. We sat waiting to be called (in actuality our our pizza was already done). No one called us. I told her I didn’t think I wanted the pizza anymore because it wasn’t hot. They called the manager over. He was very aggressive and almost annoyed. He said there was no way they had not called our name. I promised we sat at the bar the whole time and no one called our name. He said that wasn’t possible. Then he said, “So what do you want ME to do?” I don’t like confrontation, my voice was shaking and my eyes were watering. I felt like he was angry with me because I pointed out a mistake. I said, “I don’t know, but we waited, no one called us.” He huffed, “So what, I should refund your money? They called your name.” I stuttered, “I-I don’t know I just . . .” He cut me off, “Look, we called you, I don’t know what you want.” The teen boy asked if he could make me something else. I was embarrassed and upset. I told him no. I started to cry, picked up my pizza and walked away. I really just wanted someone to say sorry or at least own up to the mistake or miscommunication. Instead I was met with an angry manager that was annoyed with me and made me fell...
Read moreI've been going to SoPies for nearly a decade. Before yesterday it had been about 3 months since my last visit. Did they change ownership? My 2 friends and I were treated like absolute garbage. We visited at about 7pm on a Tuesday. We ordered 2 orders of 3 slices and 1 beer each. All the seats inside were full except for the tables by the window which they had cleaned and had the chairs on the tables. We asked if we could sit there. The employee, who was perfectly pleasant but seemed new told us we couldn't sit there, but we could stand and eat at the bar, so we did. Our pizza came and just as my bud took his first bite, a different employee came and told us we couldn't eat there. Apparently the manager was sitting on the back bench behind the counter was motioning for us to go..which by the way, she was well within ear shot when her employee told us we could eat at the bar. We told the 2nd employee that we were told we could eat there but he wasn't having it. He told us to go outside. So we stood on the sidewalk, where there were no tables, trying to decide what to do. We decided to go in and ask for a refund for the pizza. After about 1 minute of arguing with the manager who had previously been vacant and sent her employees to do her dirty work, we got a refund. I think she simply didn't want us to cause a scene because we were raising our voice, if for no other reason than to be heard over the noise of the place. Side note, they said they were closing early because business was slow, even though there wasn't enough seating for all their customers because they had about 4 of their tables put up...very odd. I loved this place. And the 2 guys I'm used to seeing run it in the past were understanding and fantastic. The person who eventually identified herself as a manager this time was absolutely...
