I posted this on yelp but I guess management doesn’t check yelp reviews. On June 28th, I came in with my two kids to enjoy some ice cream from a place of which I've always enjoyed going too. But this visit was the worse experience I've ever had. When I got there, the worker with the tiny blonde mullet stared at me and my kids for way too long while we were in line, maybe he had just zoned out but it was very weird.. and they had a long line and he wasn't working so it's still a problem. my daughter noticed first and asked why that man is staring at us, after I saw, I stared back and he kept staring, it made us very uncomfortable. When I got up to order my ice cream, the girl with the baggy green pants and glasses had such an attitude with me, she literally sighed when I asked for plain vanilla for my son. But overall through all three ice creams I ordered she was nothing short of rude and had absolutely no smile or friendliness at all! When I got up to pay, the guy who stared at us was running the register, i greeted him and said "hey" with a smile because I'm trying to be a decent human being, in response he looks at me with a blank ugly face and says my total, no greeting, no smile. The ice cream parlor has always been a friendly environment but these two workers running the front yesterday were not friendly at all. Maybe they were having a bad day, but that should never be a reason to be rude to customers. My daughter told me after we left that the guy with the mullet (who I was told by my friend is the owners son) made her feel scared... please get the word out to get these workers in check...
Update… I have upped my rating because you seem to really care… I do not have social media, I believe it’s a gateway to evil. Thank you for wanting to get things straightened out. I’ve had visits since then and they have all...
Read moreWhile the Ice Cream Parlor wasn’t our first choice for a quick bite to eat, we were pleasantly surprised.
A cute corner building off the main streets of Southern Pines, which sports a bright and fun atmosphere that appeals to all ages, would be the perfect spot during the warmer months to stop for a sweet treat.
Upon entering the building, we acquired a table that had just been vacated, and a worker immediately came over to wipe off the table before we could get settled in.
The food menu was extensive, despite my first impression of it being an ice cream shop, and there were about 20 different flavors of ice cream to choose from.
We both ordered the All the Way hotdog, minus the slaw for mine, and it was cooked perfectly. My husband had his with the slaw, and he commented that it was the best hot dog he’s had in a long time. I also ordered the Coffeehouse Cookies and Cream milkshake, which was blended to a smooth consistency that could easily be sucked through a straw. Everything was delivered promptly to the table by the friendly employees.
We were there at about 5:15 on a Tuesday, which seemed to be a sweet spot for quick service. It was only a few minutes after we arrived that the lobby was full of families.
Since I only had two items, I only gave four stars, but I would love to go back and try out other food options and ice cream flavors. If you need something quick and simple, this is the...
Read moreWe explored Southern Pines over the weekend. After having dinner, it was so hot I suggested ice cream to my husband. There was a little bit of a wait, but when I got up to the counter, I made sure to ask if they had homemade ice cream because I prefer it. It’s the smaller area that houses the homemade options. After tasting a few. I decided on the strawberry homemade ice cream, and it was really fresh tasting and good! I could tell that it was popular because the young woman was scraping nearly at the end of the ice cream container. My husband went with something from the Hershey’s ice cream section. I have never liked to buy ice cream that you can buy in a store from any ice cream parlor. I am so happy they had homemade options. PS there was a lavender option. I have some friends that would love to try this! Check...
