I stopped in to get some of their usual wonderful potatoes. Everything was okay at first despite me having to wait before being acknowledged, and greeted for about 7 minutes with no one visible when I walked in to order. When you're on your lunch hour, 7 minutes seems a long time to wait to try to get someone to take your order. No one else was in the resturant when I walked in. A man finally came to the front, and politely asked to help me. I told him I only wanted to order potatoes. He was very helpful, and suggested what sizes I should order to accommodate the amount of people I was ordering for. Now I don't know if its a cardinal sin to only order potatoes, but my order did not seem to sit well with the employees. The kind man that took my order disappeared, and two other guys came up, and handled the business coming in front. I'm watching as people start pouring in to pick up orders, and place orders. A lady that came in after me was given her order very quickly. She phoned it in, so I get that her order may have been ready quickly, but I was still standing waiting before her, and after. I counted 8 people getting helped after I was waiting for my order to come up! Then while I was never acknowledged that my order was on the way up or anything, I happened to see my potatoes standing box open, lonely with all the workers working over, and around it without putting butter on them, packaging them up or anything!!!! It was if I or the potatoes weren't there. It was as if we didn't exist, weren't there, and or being ignored, and for what reason??? Because there was no chicken ordered? What was the reason for this treatment??? So I was trying to get the guys attention that kept reaching over my potatoes, then a young lady emergerged from the back, and saw my plea. Thank God she came up, and completed my order. She kindly slathered butter on my cold dry sitting potatoes. Then she looked surprised when I told her they had not only left my order laying around open, but never cashed me out either!!! I thanked her, and I tipped her extremely well because she helped me after the guys made a mess of everything. The young lady was a lifesaver. I so appreciated her for stepping in, and helping me. I had been there way longer than I should have for it to have been empty when I arrived at 2pm in the afternoon after the normal lunch hour rush. It made me sad that their customer service was little to non existent. A customer should never be made to feel bad. I was thankful the manager atleast took my order before he disappeared again. His workers were not professional at all. I was greatly disappointed. I am aware not everyone knows or cares to give great customer service as I do in my business, but they could have done better than that! That was pure neglect, and very rude. This is also the very first time ever my potatoes weren't right. They gave me the small scappy pieces, not the soft nuggets, with the usual delectable crunchy outside. Greatly...
Read moreI rarely leave reviews but my experience definitely warranted these extra couple of minutes. I chose to go this location versus the Bloomfield one where I live for convenience. I read the reviews here and saw the consistent post about poor customer service; however, it was on my route to my next destination.
I walked in to a customer complaining to what appeared to be the manager. I’m not sure why the customer was so upset but she appeared visibly disturbed. The manager was being loud and abrasive with the customer. She didn’t seem intent on appeasing the customer’s needs. The other staff stood around watching the show while 6 other “incoming” guest stood unserved. We were just spectators to this disturbance and we had to wait until the showdown was over, I thought that was extremely inappropriate.
Once handed my meal, I immediately looked at my food and there were these tiny crumbles of chicken pieces they were fried so hard that they looked like pork skins. I inquired about it assuming they made a mistake because other locations actually give chicken bites of substance. Loudly the manager informed me that’s how they do it there. I explained to her that these can’t count towards the 10 bites, I paid for ($20). I eat often at chicken shack and never have received a plate with scraps on it. I ultimately left out because I’m not going back and forth with people who don’t have the same competencies as I, but I’ll never return they are cutting portion sizes and charging double at this location. My meal was dried out little chips of chicken for $20!
If you want to feel you get your moneys worth go to other locations. This location takes the normal one bite size and splits it in half. So your 10 piece is really a 5...
Read morePulled in to parking space and got out the car. As I’m walking to the entrance for Chicken Shack Southfield there was a man sitting on the window seal smoking a cigarette. He didn’t say Hello or Hi . He just asked was I there to pick up an order? I said No I’m am here to place an order first time customer. He said okay and started to put out his cigarette. Once inside I noticed no one was there in the Lobby dining or that their wasn’t a smell of Food. There was only one person to come in after me and he was picking up an order for DoorDash that was waiting on the counter. Red Flag the man that was outside smoking was behind the counter do everything except cooking. I placed my order and waited over 30 minutes while he did what seem to be stock before he even started to prepare my order. Okay in my mind maybe their short of staff just be patient. He started frying the Chicken and went back to moving boxes and pouring loads of what looked like uncooked potatoes into a bucket or something. Next thing I know here comes a woman through the door walked behind the counter picked up the tongues shook the basket and started taking the Chicken out putting it in my box. She did not take off her coat or wash her hands. Red Flag !!!! I should have asked for a Refund I had been sitting so long the man that took my order told me he gave me extra coleslaw and barbecue packs. I said Thankyou because I was a first time customer. He said oh you will be back….Again my first time at that location will also be my final time. Chicken was hard and so was the potatoes!!!! Highly...
