Koi Express Hibachi & Sushi — Restaurant in Southfield

Very pleased with the service and food I received today. I asked that they leave off the rice and add extra veggies to my steak and shrimp hibachi meal to stay low on carbs. Food was hot, fresh and I didn’t miss the rice at all. The cashier was polite as well.

Edit: Visited today…and was highly disappointed. Placed order at 5:45, was told 15 mins. Arrived just after 6, didn’t receive food until after 6:40. Be honest about the pick up times. If your cook is behind, when ppl call to place orders; give them a true pick up time and let them decide if they want to wait 45 mins for food. Especially food that’s rushed, ordered crab Rangoon and it was a literally a fried wonton with a laughable amount of filling. Hibachi was dry and flavorless. Previous visit...

My boyfriend and I ended up here unexpectedly but we were just blown away by the food. It does not appear “upscale” as far as the interior but the food is definitely upscale. I got the hibachi chicken and steak and I was able to upgrade to filet mignon and it was amazing. The steak sauce that came with the meal seemed homemade and was to die for. The chicken was great and my boyfriend got the shrimp and chicken hibachi meal and spicy California roll and spring rolls. Everything tasted amazing. My boyfriend was definitely satisfied by the size of the shrimp. They even gave us a Japanese fried chicken tender a piece while we waited for our food and the dipping sauce for that was amazing. Update: 7/19/24-I went in today the place is clean and everyone is friendly that work here! I'm eating my food and this top any hibachi place in the area!!! Food is tasty. Fresh and made with love
