I order 40 pieces of chicken on Christmas Eve for a Christmas party. When I arrived to pickup my order to my surprise instead of my order being in an aluminum pan it was in 2 styrofoam to go containers. I asked the cashier does that look like 40 whole wing chicken pieces to you that can’t be my order the containers look to small. There is no way 40 pieces of chicken can fit all in there. One container was smaller than the other. The cashier told me to count the chicken. I opened the containers but did not count the chicken at the register. I told the cashier I did not count the chicken but If you say it’s 40 whole wings then I will believe you. When I got home I transferred the chicken from the two styrofoam containers to one dish in preparation for the party. That’s when I counted the chicken and I was short 8 pieces of chicken. I called the 9 mile and Greenfield location where I got the chicken and told them I was shorted chicken. There was no debate or shock the same cashier (I recognized her voice) that I spoke to earlier about the order not looking right, Said just come up here with your receipt and we will give you the missing chicken. I drove back up there after putting the chicken back in the styrofoam to go containers that they gave me with receipt in hand. When I arrived they recognized me it was two girls one was the cashier the other girl hands you the order. They took my chicken and receipt to the cook and said she missing chicken with no hesitation he said ok and said I will have to put the missing chicken in another container. They had to put the missing chicken in another container because it would not have fit in the initial containers they gave me. This restaurant knowingly shorted me chicken and this is probably their practice. There is no telling how many other people they shorted that day or everyday. Had I not been going to a Christmas party and wanted the chicken in a festive container I would of never counted the chicken and in the past I’ve never counted chicken purchased from them, I would just start eating and I’m sure they are hoping people do that. Count your chicken because they short people. My 40 piece order I paid over $60 for was basically a 30 piece order had I not caught the error, you would think they would of gave me additional chicken for free for the inconvenience but nope they gave me the smallest pieces they could find to resolve the error. I’m never going f...
Read moreWent to the location in Southfield on 9 mile near Greenfield this past Tuesday night (6/22). When I called to place my order, I specifically asked about the the soft drink selection to go with my orders. The lady said they had pop and kool-aid to choose from. I told her I would pick kool-aid when I arrived to pick up my order. When I got there I told the lady I wanted 2 of the purple drinks. She told me that the machine was off for the night and I would have to get a can of pop from the cooler near the door? I explained that I asked about that when I placed my order but she said I never spoke to her and there was someone else taking orders earlier. I didn't want to argue but I could plainly see that the drink machine was obviously still running. As I paid for my order and waited I noticed no less than 4 different signs that urge you to check your order and that nothing would be refunded or re-made once you leave the store. So I checked my order upon receiving it and it was completely wrong. I gave it back to her and she immediately gave me the correct order. As I checked the order again, both the boxes were very greasy with crumbs all the outside of them. The lady at the window had substandard customer service skills, was completely unfriendly, and looked unprofessional with a skin-tight, revealing outfit on, a dirty apron, and about 20 different tattoos on display.
Now on to the food. The wingdings I ordered were over cooked and extremely small. I could literally see the bones of half the chicken before I tried to eat them. Most of it was so hard and dry, I could hardly chew it. The fries were cold and soggy. The cole slaw was more dressing than cabbage or carrots. My wife's catfish & shrimp was fine, but the cole slaw and fries were the same as mine: cold, soggy, with soupy cole slaw.
I've had good food and decent service from this place in the past. I sincerely hope that this was just...
Read moreI normally don’t write reviews but I just had THE WORST experience at the Southfield Nu Wave. I’m not sure if they are under new management but I ordered a 10 piece perch for $27.99 and it was fried extremely hard to the point where it was inedible. When I returned to request a new order or the catfish fillet, the cook came from the back and rudely stated that “We can’t do that!” I asked “Why not?” To which he replied, “Its not the same price.” I pointed to the advertised menu above to point out the fact that it was. The rude cook and the cashier began whispering to themselves. “It’s a mistake” the cook said. To which I replied, “Well that is what is advertised.” I then stated that I could get a new order or dispute the transaction with my bank. I had more pressing things to do with my day than argue over $27. The rude cook told me to “Do whatever”. So I began recording to show my bank that I tried to make amends with the merchant prior to disputing. And do you know what rudeness did? He CALLED THE COPS! I recorded what I needed and left. I will be sharing this online with friends, family and coworkers. NU Wave in Southfield will never get another swipe out...
