I'll start off with what concerns me the most. Everyone at my table got a soda, cocktail, or coffee. I got just a water. As I was drinking it I got this strange smell. I smelled the water it smelled like bleach or chlorine or some type of cleaner. Others at our table agreed.
I mentioned it to our server and she was very apologetic. I then watched her go to the soda station, smell a couple more cups, and then put mine in a plastic cup. Clearly she noticed the smell too. Yet they used those cups for the VERY long time we were there.
Visited on Mother's Day for the first time, based of a recommendation from a friend. I should have decided against it after reading the review someone left about last year.
I get it was mother's day, so I expected it to be very busy. (Just Incase the comment on my review like they did the one from last year)
The problem is they tried to get as much business as possible that it had a very negative impact on their customers. It seemed like the revenue was more important than anything else.
We had 12:00 reservations. We waited over an hour for our food. We got out food after 1:30 I want to say we ordered around 12:15. Regardless it was an over an hour.
The table next to us walked out after waiting a long time for their food, and then being told it would be even longer. Their server was not exactly pleasant.
As we were finishing up, I noticed the customers were much less. Then I realized it was because they were closed!
Reservation time 12:00 Departure time 2:15 ( and we left not longer after finishing our meal)
Respect customers time. Don't try to accommodate more tables than you actually can. This will cause customers to not come back.
I feel bad for the other table, who left to probably go somewhere, without food.
Wife liked her meal. She had the lobster Benedict, one of the eggs was hard boiled (maybe because of the wait)
My meal was fine and a VERY GOOD value, but not...
Read moreI googled ideas for breakfast and decided upon this place for today. It was very unwelcoming - I suppose because I wasn’t a repeat customer. I overheard the server tell a guy that entered after me to “ seat yourself anywhere you like.” I asked a different woman If I should seat myself and she said, “ yes.”
I was given two menus.🤷🏽♀️ After about 10 minutes the woman who initially told someone else they could see themselves as if I was waiting for another person and I replied, “ no I’m waiting to place my order.” She apologized and claims she thought I was waiting for someone she thought the other personwent in the bathroom.🤔
I definitely came alone🙂. Not only was I not a regular but I stood out in the environment in comparison to the other patrons. I couldn’t help but think to myself you thought you saw someone go in the bathroom but you didn’t see me sitting here for 10 minutes🙂.
Let’s move onto the food I enjoyed the mixture of fruit but it definitely was sitting out in the back because it was very warm. The French toast had far too much cinnamon for my liking -it didn’t taste half as impressive as it looked on-line
I liked the location of the restaurant however I don’t know that I will go again. However I would suggest better service the woman who originally overlooked me - did everything ,she served both the inside and the outside, she cashed customers out.
I observed her almost burn her hand trying to open the door with three hot plates of food in her hand. Perhaps they should open the windows and pass the plates to a server stationed outside to service the folks that choose to sit outside. Just...
Read moreI came back to Paul Gregory’s after 13 years and when we came back, me and my son found the food to be very delicious! Corned Beef Hash is back to being homemade, pancakes weren’t rubbery like other establishments, Coffee & Orange Juice is good… however the service is very lacking. Since there was only two of us, they said we can sit anywhere but they expected to get busy soon they suggested we sit at the small tables against the wall. That was not bad but with the limited space of the wall tables, you have very little room for you, your plate, and your cups. At one point, I had some creamer cups and sugar packets that needed to be thrown out and I had to ask the waitress if she could take our trash since it had been sitting there so long and was taking up space. I had to ask for utensils so my coffee got cold waiting for a spoon, to stir the creamer. Speaking of the coffee, the cup they gave us had LIPSTICK on the rim, indicating it wasn’t washed thoroughly (see the image with the red circle around the area on the cup). My son asked for scrambled eggs with the cheese mixed in the eggs and like all other establishments, they ignored that request and put the cheese on top. When we arrived there was only 6 tables in use out of 15 and the serving staff was not keeping an eye out for their customers. I kept trying to gain the attention of the servers by trying to make eye contact but they just kept socializing. Even then, there weren’t many of us so it wouldn’t be hard to miss a glance.
Overall, the food is great but not only do they need to up their service, they need to clean their dishes...
