Pesto`s - Restaurant, Bar & Pizzaria — Restaurant in Southington

Let’s just start off with it was a Monday. Many restaurants are closed and maybe this one should have been also, they needed the extra day off to get themselves together…they’re a newer restaurant but not THAT new, it has officially been over one month and they have a lot to work on. Truly wish Southington would get better restaurants, just a handful of good ones in the area. Sad this is right in the center. Cold food, raw chewy calamari, a nonexistent beer list, need more white wines by the glass. Evil NY Strip could have been amazing, if it wasn’t cold and cooked correctly, great flavor interesting delicious topping with sautéed tomatoes and onions. Good portions. Sat us at an outdoor table with a firepit that still wasn’t working, or they weren’t sure how to use it?… we were there until past 9pm and lights outside either didn’t go on or they have none set up- thank goodness for southington street lights! I hate to give a poor review to a newer restaurant, but this was a very disappointing experience.Our entrees came before we were half way through our salads. I ordered the carbonara as it was described as I have had it before. Not so. When it came to the table, it didn't look like Carbonara. Gave it the benefit of the doubt. I ate some, but it was so overly spicy that I brought it home with the intention of doctoring up to be edible. Was better but my husband said "what's this?" it's not Carbonara. We stopped on our drive home, noticed it was a new place and wanted to give it a try! We were BLOWN AWAY.
