It’s really too sad they closed the Joyce to open Royal James. Joyce was by far better. Food and atmosphere was very different @ the Joyce, very Irish with a traditional Irish menu.
I agree with some of the reviewers, the drinks taste like pure mixers. I don’t need it to taste like lighter fluid, just a good balance of the liquor and the mixture. My husband, who thinks all my drinks are strong, was first to point out that it was like sugar water. After we visited, I heard from others that the drinks were pure juice and watered down. You might want to order your liquor on the side. And be sure to taste that shot before you add it to your drink. The food is middle of the road bar food at best. The energy was off - felt like everyone working was on edge. We overhead one of the managers chastising one of the servers.
Had a lot of hope…cool concept and location …..sigh 😞. Perhaps they are still working out the kinks. Will continue to visit the Pub (owned by the same folks). Have never had a problem with watered down...

Queso Mac and cheese bowl was pretty much Kraft Mac, tossed with black beans, jalapeño, tomato and some suspicious pulled chicken. My husband ordered the jerk chicken sandwich that was 2 small pieces of the suspicious chicken between thick hard bread with an array of pickled onions…and chips as his side. Both were $14. This is more so the place you go for apps and drinks. Entrees try somewhere else.
Was very happy to see this open. Love that they offer non alcoholic drinks and that they are shown in the menu. The food was very good and refreshing! The pimento and jam appetizer was 10/10. We will be...
Read moreGreat spot with some outdoor bar seating on the sidewalk. It was enjoyable just watching some locals share a drink there. Overall, a cool little place to take a break and enjoy America’s original national beverage: Rum. They have some decent rums on the wall, but I hope they are able to get some Hamilton Rums, Denizen, and Probitas. I didn’t order off the drink menu, but did enjoy a classic three ingredient rum cocktail. Bartenders and staff are very informative and friendly. I appreciate the place’s style as well, as not all rum bars have to be garish, kitschy,...
