During our recent visit to this restaurant, my girlfriend and I unfortunately left feeling frustrated and disappointed due to a subpar service experience. The hostess on duty, Arial, exhibited rude behavior and appeared to be quite overwhelmed. Despite our request for additional chairs at our table or a move to a larger table to accommodate later-arriving guests, Arial rudely denied our request. While we understood the busy nature of the place and the possibility of other parties waiting, we believed there were better ways to respond to our request. As an alternative, we decided to order our food to-go, but to our surprise, Arial insisted that they weren't serving food for takeout, despite witnessing the staff actively preparing and serving to-go meals right in front of us.
Despite the disappointing encounter with the hostess, our experience with our waitress, Faye, was quite pleasant. She was friendly and promptly resolved minor issues with our meal, such as missing sauces. Opting for the vegetarian tacos, I was impressed with the overall flavor profile of the dish. The sauce provided a delightful blend of sweetness and tanginess, perfectly complementing the quinoa base and accompanying side of fries. The dish was truly satisfying, especially when paired with a pilsner.
The most peculiar aspect of our dining experience occurred when the server swiftly dropped the bill on our table, not even five minutes after we had received our food order. It gave us the impression that the staff were eager to rush customers out the door as quickly as possible, leaving us with an overall feeling of unease and haste.
Overall, our visit to this restaurant was marred by frustrating and disappointing service, primarily due to the rude and unaccommodating attitude of the hostess. However, the redeeming factor was the enjoyable flavors of the food, particularly the vegetarian tacos with their well-balanced sauce. Nevertheless, the rushed nature of the service, exemplified by the premature arrival of the bill, left us with a sense of unease...
Read moreFood was great...had a crabcake sandwich, blackened shrimp tacos and a child's BLT. Our server was ok...seemed inexperienced and unsure of herself and failed to pre-bus the table. The problem came when we asked to split the check and gave the server a cash tip. When she brought the credit card slips back, each was $5 more than it should have been. I got the servers attention and asked her "wasn't the bill $49 and change?" I asked her to give me a print out of the bill again. When I received it, indeed the bill was $49+ and we had been charged $10 more than the bill. As the server had just dropped the reprint and walked away, I asked the other server that seemed to have more experience to help and she immediately told me that she couldn't do anything about it. I told her that was unacceptable and she was hateful and snatched the bills and cards from me. It took 20 minutes for her to refund, a "manager" to show up and the corrected receipts to be presented. When I asked to speak to the "manager" outside, she informed me that she was no longer the manager, that her brother was. She said it was a mistake that an order of mushrooms had been added to our order between printing the bill the first time and running the cards. I don't believe this since the overage was exactly $10 and both times the bill was printed, it was $49 and change. Supposedly, the manager realized the mushrooms were there and removed them but that was after the bill had been printed twice. The rude server continued to mouth even though I had taken my conversation outside. She refused to take a table that just sat down outside saying "I'm not taking that table because they are out there talking about me" making the other server take it. My daughter who was still seated inside overheard this take place. Disappointing for one of our small hometown...
Read moreWe ordered the 2 tacos with ground beef and fries as it was one of the most affordable things on the menu (over $13 for each dish). We were disappointed in the poor quality of the tacos. The fries were good, but not the tacos. I would suggest going to Taco Bell instead, as you will get more for your money and much tastier tacos. As well, we were turned off by the menu's statement that if we wanted to buy one meal and share it, we would be charged an extra $2.00! We thought we were misreading it, as we never heard of any restaurant charging customers for splitting a meal. The waitress confirmed we read it right and said they did that because so many people split meals and they had to use an extra dish! Wow! Really? I told the waitress maybe if they lowered their prices people would not have to split meals. Anyway, we will not return to this restaurant due to the extremely high prices for the quality of food, and because of that $2.00 charge for sharing a meal. One word for that is: TACKY. Sorry, but if this restaurant wants to bring in customers, they should value them, not price gouge them. We will...
