Mr and Mrs Furpless were very hospitable. Spoke to Mr Furpless early before the show and he gave us a great history lesson on the theater, very interesting. I cannot recommend this place enough. Love it

The Amuzu is the best live entertainment around. The theatre building itself is a beautiful structure with the original brick from 1918. The owner is the third generation of the theatre and his wife, daughters and granddaughter are also performers. They put on a rock and roll show every summer, a Christmas show in December and other various shows throughout the year. All performers are volunteers and come from the Southport area. Saw the Christmas Show Saturday, December 10th. It was the most intense and passionate performance of people I have seen in person and on TV. The songs and acts were many and marvelous. The dedication of everyone in this theater is second to none. I am in shock I was able to get two tickets to this show after seeing how great it was. Hope I can get tickets for future...
