Franklin Coffee House — Restaurant in Sparta

I have been in here several times and it is very clean inside. The baked goods have always been delicious. Last week I got the Sammy and it was really good. I can't say it was $8 good. I am sitting in Sparta not the Dells or a cafe in Denver. It's not big at all. I received a slice of strawberry with it. I swore the menu read w/a side of seasonal fruit. An entire strawberry wouldn't be a side of seasonal fruit and a slice of a strawberry is garnish. Extremely misleading. A while back I read a review regarding the hot chocolate tasting like a cup of hot milk. I tried it one evening with my daughter and it was definitely very light in chocolate. I just left there with a Mocha and it tastes the same which is not a compliment. Maybe they should stick with pour over and selling baked goods. Then they would surely have 5 stars. Most locals will give high reviews to be nice. I am not that guy to brag about a place that...

I’m glad this business is woman owned and lead, as far as I know. I think having a cafe specific location is a great component to Sparta. I hope very much Starbucks is not a huge dip in sales as an efficient option. I hope maybe you guys can also institute drive through or maybe you have a mobile / drive up option I’m unaware of! I’m glad you have felt strong to move into a larger location!

I understand the beans are more locally sourced i think. I would love to see more food sensitive options in the bakery!

Definitely an appealing place for study or maybe for a work event:) I hope that franklins is asked to maybe cater networking events or such in the greater Sparta / moco area!!!:D

what would also be cool is like a monthly subscription type of thing, for drinks, for example.

Super disappointed with my experience at Franklins coffeehouse. I came from Stevens Point for an event in La Crosse, and decided to stop on the way home in Sparta for a drink. I ordered a hot chocolate, and my girlfriend ordered some kind of flavored coffee drink and specifically she ordered it with extra flavor. We both watched her make the hot chocolate by putting chocolate syrup into hot milk, and it still managed to taste worse than I was expecting. Basically tasted like warmed up white milk with a touch of chocolate syrup. My girlfriends drink also had no flavor, and just tasted like watered down coffee. Again, super disappointing. Hoping it was just a bad day for Franklins coffeehouse. Tipping $5 before receiving the drinks was a mistake, but maybe they can buy a half way decent box of hot chocolate...
