Corona Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Spartanburg

I've been going to this restaurant for 10 years and I absolutely love their family their staff is normally fantastic but my family took me last night for my birthday like we do every year there ended up being an incident with the food there was something found in the food I was trying to quietly talk to the owner when one of the rudest waitresses I've ever seen came up and start screaming at me would not stop yelling throwing accusations calling names ...I'm trying to explain to her that I was trying to keep it quiet as to not embarrass the restaurant since I really think a lot of this place basically there was a bug found in the lettuce ( not a Roach)and I know things can happen things can get in lettuce this is not a nasty restaurant I've never had an issue here before they're very clean it's a wonderful family great food but this waitress is just repeating over and over and over it's not a roach it's not a roach and I'm trying to say I don't care if it's a moth there's a bug in our food I didn't want free food I didn't want to Discount I just wanted her to get it and understand that we were upset about the situation she was so rude she went around the restaurant the rest of the time glaring at us and talking to other waitresses about us and pointing ... She also stated that if i had a problem she was about to get off work... Like she wanted to fight... REALLY...at the end of the night they still charged us for that plate of food that has a bug in it... they did give me a gift certificate which day didn't even have to do it ....wasn't about the food the money it was about how rude the waitress was ...so until she's out of there my family will never go back so they just lost a lot of business after 10 years... My boyfriend and I went early today for the first time, in search of some good Mexican food, which we’ve never gotten before.

I did not know what I wanted from the menu and I, having an anxiety disorder, began to have an anxiety attack while my boyfriend ordered himself a burrito. The server seemed irritated with the way I was sitting in the booth and not ordering so my boyfriend ordered 2 plain beef tacos for me. When my food came out, the meat was steak instead of ground beef like we asked and looked disgusting. I’m not sure how you can screw up tacos, and I love tacos more than anything, but these I definitely did not want to even look at for much longer. I sat there, appetite lost, and we waited for his burrito. The server came back with a plate of taquitos and my boyfriend called him back over to explain he ordered a burrito. After a while, he received an enchilada on a plate and the server basically threw the plate down, gave a quick apology and ran away from our table. We were both dissatisfied and requested a manager since I could not eat and he barely touched his food to try it. The manager on duty apparently could not speak English well so we requested a second manager to help us out, with translation or otherwise.

We were still required to pay for both of our full meals even though we probably had 2 small bites to eat between us and we were highly upset considering we drove far out of our way to try a place we thought would be great but ended up being a low grade-looking, rude-staffed joint with awful, expensive food. First I’d like to say i love Coronas as an establishment and i always enjoy the food/staff when i come but not on this paticular night. Not only did i wait 10-15 mins for my waitress KAREM to come take our order i had to physically get up to get another gentleman to get KAREM out of a corner from talking and laughing with friends just to get our order token. Now upon giving her my order she stood there nonchalantly, didn’t take out a notepad or anything solely relied on her memory which worried me a little being that my order did have some pretty specific details to it. Finally when my food came out it was wrong... now explaining for a second time what i wanted (she still didn’t WRITE it down) her smart reply before she left was “you should of said that the first time” and she walked off with my food. Soon, she approaches with my food again which is still wrong, i simply ask her this time could she write it down and she “says could you be any smarter” i reply “i’d like you to write it down so it can be right” and she replied “ HOW ABOUT YOU GO MAKE IT YOURSELF”... After that i went and got the manager myself.. They apologized and gave me a new waitress CELINA who got my order right on the first try and was extremely kind and pleasant. I’ve never been so disrespected in my life, and this is by far THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE I’VE EVER HAD. She (KAREM) makes Conrona’s look bad as an establishment and i hope she is no longer part of the staff...
