ALDI — Local services in Spartanburg

2025 edit: I am satisfied with the amount of grocery carts they have now. I have changed my 1 star to 5. Thank you for listening, Aldi’s. The bf is now an ex now… who needs a man when you have Aldi’s?

This was my 1st time at this Aldi’s (I love Aldi’s) and I brought my boyfriend who had never been to one to show him the magic of one. I could not find a grocery cart anywhere! I walked in thinking they were inside because none were outside. Nope. I walk around the whole store and could not find an employee on the floor to ask where one is. I finally ask a customer where to get them. He says they’re outside the store but they’re out so you have to wait for one. There was only an average amount of shoppers inside, this was not super busy! I like to take my time shopping and not feel pressure of “I need to return a cart so others can use it,” so I just left despite intending to buy at least $100+ of products only to go to a different grocery store. This is Aldi’s, highly reputable, and they cannot afford to buy more carts to meet even the average shopping day? I’m leaving this bad review in hopes that corporate adds more shopping carts! (I will be happy to take it down when more is added...) I’ve never had this issue at ANY grocery store. It’s especially infuriating when Aldi’s is already touchy about their grocery carts with the quarter, how can they not provide...

Normally the cashiers and workers are friendly.. but today was just awful.. I love the prices and the great finds and it's so convenient for me to go to this Aldi... I tried to ask the one of the ladies that was putting out produce a question and she told me "you just have to go look yourself".. I had a few things in my hand and something fell and she didnt even bother to pick it up she just rolled her eyes and turned around.. The cashier didnt even bother to speak after I said "Hello, how are you today?" She just told me to "go ahead and swipe my card"... I told her "Thank you and I hope you have a good day" but she still didnt say anything back.. I get that it was a busy time of the day and getting to be a busy time of year but geesh, it doesnt really take much to be a little nicer and at least speak.. When I worked at the grocery store in high school we had to speak to everyone that came through our lines.. Times have definitely changed.. I'll go back to using Instacart to get my groceries from...

Let me just start by saying I really love Aldi. The customer service is really great and the whole atmosphere is all-around wonderful. I don't mind paying a quarter to rent a cart because I get it right back afterward. I don't mind bringing my own bags or boxes to use and reuse. However, this location is on a strip mall where you get lots of different types of people. As my sister and I were getting my daughter into the car, this guy accosted us for "money for his 7month pregnant wife." We had no money nor do we give out money to beggars. We have him a package of Turkey sticks instead. He went group to group with the same story. As we drove away, we saw him giving all the money he collected to a guy in the driver's seat of his car. I wish I had called him out or something, but we were already stuck in the flow of traffic. Just a heads up if you every go to this location. He was only asking people who had come out...
