T.J. Maxx — Local services in Spartanburg

Throughout my 23-year residency in Spartanburg, SC, I have never experienced such egregious disrespect or poor treatment as I did when I visited this store. The day prior, I purchased a necklace and bracelet from TJ Maxx. Upon opening the items at home, I discovered they were severely tangled, and during my attempt to detangle them, the bracelet broke. Consequently, I sought to return the items and exchange them for a different gift for my niece. However, the store manager informed me that she does not accept returns of such items and that I would need to return them to the original store. Her demeanor suggested that I had did something to the items, which was further exacerbated by her extremely rude unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. Notably, I possessed a receipt and the tags were still attached to the items. I am utterly dismayed by this experience and will refrain from revisiting the store as long as this manager is employed. Fortunately, another TJ Maxx location willingly accepted the return, apologized for the inadequate packaging, and promptly refunded my money. They also apologized how this person treated me and they hate that she is the face card of this location. I will drive a hour to another location than to spend my dime in that store EVER again! i am a business owner and customer service is important! And Spartanburg Sc TJ max will no longer have...

This is a neat and tidy T J Maxx. It's a bit smaller than other locations I've been to, but because it is so well organized, it is easy to locate the items you're looking for. The reason it is rated four stars instead of five is because there were not enough cashiers to serve customers the two times I have visited this store. Unfortunately, this is a mistake a lot of stores make nowadays and is not limited to TJ Maxx. There's no other self-service option for the lack of available cashiers, and it is not really saving the company money when people would rather leave without purchasing than to have better staffing. My wife and I love TJ MAXX! We always come here not expecting to buy anything and always end up finding something we love. Pretty clean facility but can sometimes be overwhelming with the amount of stock they have. My only complaint about all TJ MAXX stores is that they badger you about signing up for their credit card at checkout. As a financially literate person I believe this is a very bad thing for TJ MAXX to ask every single one of there customers. Sure it’s a good way to make more money but the people you are hurting don’t realize that they are being taken...
