Taco Dog — Restaurant in Spartanburg

Possibly the most pretentious (and worst) chilli chese dog Ive ever had. Its like they sprinkled cheese on a hot dog and microwaved it in an effort to be more "gormet". This place is absolutely the kind of place where "foodies" go to pay more for worse food while feeling better than other people because they have "refined tastes" even when it comes to casual affair. The owner is a nice guy but he makes a hot dog like someone who has never seen one AND makes them NY, CA, Chicaco, etc... style all while seemingly never set foot in those places.

As a New Yorker, if you want a NY style hot dog, you boil it in dirty water, reach into the bun bag with hands you havent washed in days, and place it on the tray, wipe your nose on your shirt, reach into the water with the tongs you just dropped on the ground, and place the dog on the bun. Hand it to the customer with the option for them to squirt some store bought ketchup/mustard on it and you've done your job. Maybe they have a nice meal, maybe they contract typhoid. I was really looking forward to trying out this restaurant, but my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I checked their sanitation score. The state had given them a B rating, which immediately raised some red flags for me. While I understand that mistakes can happen, a B rating suggests that there were some significant issues with food handling and cleanliness.

I decided not to dine there, as I prioritize food safety and don't want to take any risks with my health. It's a shame, because the restaurant looked great on paper and I had heard good things about their menu. However, I think it's essential to prioritize my well-being and choose a restaurant with a higher sanitation rating.

If you're a foodie like me, I would recommend checking the sanitation scores of restaurants before heading out. It's an easy way to ensure you're eating at a safe and clean establishment. My first time trying here. My friend grabbed me some food cause I'm at work. I received my order it was Nachos with black beans instead of beef, banana peppers instead of jalepenos and added tomatoes and removed the rice! No cheese,sour cream, nor lettuce were on the nachos though description said.They used the bottom of the bag of chips. I posted pictures. There was at least 2 seperate pieces of hair. I found the 2nd piece while on the phone with manager. I paid cash so they can not refund my order. They offered to remake my order. My friend can not make it back to pick up. They did offer for me to give them my name and I could get a replacement one day! I mentioned that I would rather not get a replacement. The concern with the issue is that the manager was very apathetic and like ok. I also work in customer service and the public. I was not rude and just wish there was some accountability.
