(My wife and I rarely eat out due to cost, food quality, and poor customer service.) After 8:00 pm. We had a party of 2. We waited over an hour. They finally seated us at a mismatched height table for 4. We saw other open tables for 2 that had already been empty for who knows how long. When we finally got our cheese fries appetizer, our waitress just took off without communicating at all. We needed drink refills and ketchup. After waiting patiently, I calmly approached two young ladies at the kiosk near our table. They ignored me. I asked if we could have some ketchup. The lady acted aggravated and said with a sigh, "ugh, I can try to find you some." I told her, that I'd gladly get it myself If she could tell me where to find it. She ignored me and never got it. Our waitress finally showed up and we asked her for ketchup and drink refills after waiting another 15 minutes. When she finally brought our drink refills and ketchup she was carrying one small styrofoam cup. She threw the drink in my wife's cup and then threw the remaing few drops in mine and left! We never got refills the entire time. Now we sat perplexed with two unfilled drinks and a cold appetizer. After a long period of time another random employee brought our food. She put my wifes down, then gave my wife my plate to hand to me. My wife said, "ok, but is it too hot for me to handle?" The employee didn't care and walked off. The plate was indeed hot and was burning my wifes hand. No one seemed to care about the danger, or that it was rude to not walk about 4 steps to simply hand me my plate at my side of the small table. There were no obstacles to prevent doing so. My steak was supposed to be medium. It was served medium well. My wifes steak was supposed to be medium well. It was WELL done to the point it was dried out completely. I asked for a loaded baked potato (and payed extra for it). The (tiny) potato had almost nothing on it. My (tiny) house salad had hardly any lettuce and almost nothing else. My wife was given a (tiny) bowl of chili that looked like it was a condiment portion bowl. We almost never saw our waitress. When we did see her, she offered almost no communication and was not even attempting to be friendly. We had to beg for rolls. If we could've just gotten a few full drink cups, condiments, and rolls from the start... we could've salvaged the bad experience atleast a little. We would've dealt with being ignored. We are easy to please, patient people. We just smiled and tried to make the best of it. The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars is because the taste of the food wasn't the worst it could be, but it was close.
Wait time - too long for a bad experience. Atmosphere - loud, overly crowded, and uncomfortable seating. General staff - apathetic, rude at times, unfriendly demeanor. Waitress - absent 95% of the time. Apathetic, unfriendly, unprofessional, not attentive at all. Food - extremely small servings for the price. Not cooked/prepared as ordered.
I give it 2 stars only because the food was edible. You have my word, we will not be back. I encourage others reading this to try another...
Read moreSunday Sept 15 2024 Went to eat at the Texas Roadhouse store # 516 today in Spartanburg S.C around 12pm. We asked for a table of 5. The hostess asked if everyone for the party was there. We said no but we would like to go ahead and sit down to order drinks and an appetizer and that the other 2 guest were turning into the parking lot. The hostess did not want to seat us. She reluctantly had us seated and said we would need to go ahead and order for the other 2 guest. We said ok. We ordered cheese fries with Chili and 3 drinks. The cheese fries were extremely salty. We noticed that our server said something to the hostess after she left our table. We think she complained to the hostess that we had not ordered the main meal yet. I did not realize we had to order right when we sat down, that we were on a stopwatch ? When our server returned her attitude had changed from great to just ok. I had to ask her 2x for roles. The roles were great. Our other 2 guest showed up to the table about 10 or so minutes after we were seated. But they had to go to the restroom and would return shortly. It takes a little time for her to use the bathroom. She has MS and is handicapped and she does not get around really good and has to have help. Right after they left to go to the bathroom the restaurant manger Daniel approached us while we were eating. He proceeded to say that we had been seated for over 20 minutes and that we were violating company policy since we were still waiting on our guest and that we had told the hostess they would be in right away. I told him they were on site but had to go to the bathroom. He proceeded to say that we were violating the company policy and that they would not be able to serve the 2 guest unless they sit at another table. WOW, I was trying to enjoy my appetizer at this time. I told the manager that I did not understand? We had ordered food and drinks and enjoying them until he started harassing us. I mean who is the customer ? My group or the restaurant? If I ordered appetizers and waited to order the main meal for 20 minutes? What difference does it make. That is my choice, not his. We were not ready to order the main meal. The manager kept apologizing and blaming everything on company policies and kept talking about the 20 minute policy. I was thinking, have they ever heard of a policy nudge. Obviously not. This was really embarrassing and caused quite a scene. I asked the manager if people come in and order right away. He said yes , they know what they want before they enter the restaurant and order immediately after they are seated. Lol, I do not think that is always the case. Finally, I told the manager I was sorry for the inconvenience and upsetting him and his restaurant staff. We would just pay what we owe and leave and never return. He said that would be fine. No one cared if we were satisfied as a customer. Not impressed. So we payed and left. I guess the manager was pleased with his performance. I am 57 years old and have never been treated like that at any restaurant. WOW! We used to be a fan of Texas Road house and eat there occasionally for about the last 15 years. Usually at the one in Greer S.C. Very...
Read moreMy family and I visited this restaurant for dinner. We had my elderly grandfather in our party of 6. After being given the approximate time it would take for us to be seated we waited until 10 minutes after that time to check in with them. I was told that they had a table for us. Our party comes to the front and I watch three other parties come in behind us. My grandfather has to stand with a cane and cannot stand for a long periods of time due to health issues. I watch as all the other parties get seated and ours does not. Then they start calling other parties to come in behind us. I go to the front to check in our status. It takes her a few minutes, but she realizes that our table was given to another party. She tells me to go and wait again outside. We wait another 15 minutes or so and this time I receive notification that our table is ready. I go inside with everyone except for my grandfather, as his legs are sore from standing the first time. She asks if my entire party is there and I tell her everyone is there except for my grandfather. I explained that he can’t stand any longer while we wait for our table, but as soon as we are seated, I will navigate him to the table. She tells me that she will not seat us until he is standing there. With reluctance, I get him again and we stand again. This time we wait while other tables are also seated in front of us and my grandfather is still standing there. I go back to the front and stand there until she seats our table. She instructs the other ladies to just hurry up and get us a table. The young lady who walks us to the table, waits for us to sit and throws the baskets of rolls at our table. if it wasn’t for our amazing server, I would rate our service a one. This experience has made me want to never return to this restaurant and I have told everyone in my circle about the experience. I waited to post this, but then I thought there might be other people who do have elderly family members eating with them and I thought you should know about how this restaurant treats the elderly before you take them here. I also did call management after we left to let them know about the experience. She said that nothing was handled any differently than if she had been at the front. So this is how they are trained to...
