Monterrey Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Spartanburg

We tried this place (Monteray Mexican food in Spartanburg) for the first time and it was horrible to say the least! We had to seat ourselves and the only waiter that apparently was there saw us come in and seat ourselves and still for about 15 Minutes later after our arrival still carried on a conversation with another table of people without excusing himself to at the least give us a menu he was holding and to greet us. (This is when we should of got up and walked out knowing in our minds what was to come)! They then finally after they got around to it, brought to the table tacos and salsa sauce! We ordered the so called "sizzling fajitas" (which never sizzled) and to boot they forgot our silverware! The meal had been a little on the cool side when it came to us, and with no seasonings or flavorings and tasted very bland. We had to request the seasonings to at least taste this food! Afterward although this meal was supposed to be for 2, it came with 1 small dish of lettuce with a little dab of sour cream and again 1small dish of beans for 2 people to share and with 1 small dish of rice!!!This waiter really never came back to check on us once this meal was delivered to our table!! My sweet tea drink was down low in my glass and had to waive him down for a refill!! (But one thing for sure he didn't forget to bring the check)!!! All this and that restaurant wasn't even crowded and the food was horrible! I can honestly say for sure this is one establishment that we will NOT be returning to and hopefully to put out the word about our terrible experience. I am absolutely DISGUSTED with the abuse we received while trying to have dinner tonight. Myself and my fiance and 2 of our family members with their 2 WEEK OLD BABY decide to grab a quick dinner. Our waitress was rude from the start, but we got our food quick, and we tried to hurry. That's when they start spraying A LOT of unidentified chemicals in an unmarked spray bottle on tables in front of, behind, and beside us. So much of the chemicals that I have to use my inhaler. The 2 WEEK OLD BABY is breathing all of this in. We ask the manager to please stop with the spray, the waitress yells "well we have to clean up we close in 30 minutes". She then slams the bottle of unidentified cleaned and says fine. At this point the baby can't be around that harmful smell, the baby's mother walks the child out in the dark waiting on us to box her food up and pay. When she walks out they begin to cuss her and make horrible comments about her in Spanish (guess what I can understand) and they said if she didn't like the chemicals sprayed around her newborn she can go somewhere else. Do NOT go to this place. They are rude, the food is mediocre at best. And apparently they have no care for a 2 WEEK OLD BABY breathing in harsh chemicals, and I really hope they read this. Im not letting it go. I just finished a complaint with the BBB as did the 3 other people that were treated so bad. And I'll also have all of my friends and family file complaints. My children and I have ate here so many times and between the prices being different every single time and the service we received today, we do not plan on coming back. My children and I walked in and the restaurant was pretty empty, we waited nearly 10 mins and never seen anyone. Then a couple came and they were immediately greeted and told to have a seat where ever they like..we still were not even spoken to! So we went ahead and sat down as well, of course the couple was served first after we were there nearly 10 mins before them! When he came to our table and I let him know and he just said "sorry", he took our order, brought our food and then we never seen him again! We had to ask another server for more tea and my son had to get up and go get our takeout boxes himself! I asked the lady ringing us up was she the owner and she said yes she was the owners daughter. I told her what happened and all she said was "I will talk to him about it", didn't offer to take anything off our bill due to the neglect and poor service.
