First and foremost I was very impressed walking in seeing how bright and new the place looked. I have been to many Golden Corrals being originally from Washington D.C., then Colorado, and now in South Carolina. We had come to this Golden Corral for the first time as my mother-in-law was in town.
Now after complimenting the atmosphere, let's get into the service. Highly deplorable service. Our greeter/cashier was not polite nor did she explain that our waitress would bring our silverware. We were also not told that they were out of Coke and Sprite but we're told that we could get our drinks or have our waitress deliver them.
Now to the waitresses in our section. There were two that never brought us over silverware they were more worried about cleaning tables. I have been in hospitality for over 25 years as a 5 star Italian restaurant manager down to a 50's diner. Obviously I know a little about what to expect from a Goldne Corral.
We had to ask for silverware when my autistic son already had his plate. Still no welcoming, no asking what drinks, we would like, or to even let us know they were out of Coke or Sprite. When I walked by the cashier to get drinks, she said, *your waitress didn't get your drinks". I said no, with an unhappy tone, then had to bring both my drinks back to the Fountain, no signage saying they were out of Coke or sprite. She said sorry we don't have Coke. At that time I got a Sprite and when I went back to the table the Sprite was soda water She said your server might have some but yet when I asked the server said they were out.
There clearly was no management on site and no one personable working your mediocre Golden Corral. I hope there is action taken cause even though the store showed class in regards to the lighting and cleanliness, the hospitality was by far worse than any location I have ever been within your company.
I generally leave a tip and good reviews when deserving. Especially for Golden Corral cause the servers there don't get tipped because it is a buffet. But I know what it is to a server but your servers are just glorified bus personnel. The management should be made aware and I would like to speak to someone about this especially after my mother in law was in town and my autistic son had to wait to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreso my girlfriend and her family decided to come here after church for a meal.the food was great but when we sat down to eat the assistant manager started to loudly yell at the waitresses we had.apparently there was some dispute over her changing people around to worse sections so the waitress was not happy.instead of the assistant manager handling it professionally she was practically yelling at them in front of a whole dining room for about 45 minutes.she left only to ridicule them around the kitchen staff for a while then came back to start for round 2 with these women.this time she was even more furious because one of them went above her head to complain.it was unprofessional and downright awkward for every customer there in the dining hall.we left and i decided to come back later to make a formal complaint to the general manager only to find her there as the one in charge for the night.she remembered me from earlier because she asked for my name and why i was wanting to talk to the gm in an attempt to intimidate me as well.needless to say WE WILL NOT RETURN UNLESS CHERE HOPE IS FIRED FOR HER BEHAVIOR.she has no business being a manager of any kind.we refuse to give our money to a place that allows their managers to treat workers and customers like that.we had two young babies with us and if a fight between the workers and her broke out it would have been at our table.we will let all our friends and family know about this.hopefully someone at corporate will see these reviews about her and do something about it because she is a problem.I take no joy in someone losing their job but that woman does not deserve that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you want a lot of hair in your food, this is the place to go for it! I tried this restaurant on 2 occasions (once at dinner time and once at breakfast time) and each time, there was hair in the food. The first time, we found a hair in the chocolate from the chocolate fountain. I didn't realize this until I brought the strawberry that I dipped in the chocolate fountain to the table. When I realized what it was, I asked the waiter if we could speak to the manager. He told the manager several times that we wanted to speak with him and we watched the manager stand around in the corner, staring at us and shaking his head. We left and said that we would not be back because if the management didn't care that there was hair in the food, then why would we spend our hard earned money there? I mean, the carpet was a mess and the food was never really replenished or hot and finding the hair just made us sick. Fast forward to a few years later. We decided to give this place another chance and went in for breakfast. That is when my wife found a hair under some potatoes. The same manager from before was behind the line and my wife asked to speak with him. When he finally decided to come to the table, she showed him the hair and he had an attitude like it wasn't the first time he had heard that that morning. He asked where it came from and she said she found it under the potatoes that she put on her plate and said that she assumed it came from there and then he just walked away. We never saw him remove the tray of potatoes from the line. This place is gross and I...
