EDIT: The owner of Pizza Rita followed up with me and we had a phone conversation about my experience. He was very nice and sent me “Pizza Rita Bucks.” We ordered again the following weekend and had a great experience. We will order from Pizza Rita in the future.

Recently, we received a supermarket receipt that had a Pizza Rita coupon printed on the back for a BOGO pizza of any size. We put it on our refrigerator and on Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, we decided to use it and ordered pizza from the Pines Pizza Rita location. We went online to browse the menu. According to the menu, a large pizza was $11.99 with an extra $2 for each additional topping. I called to place our order…a 2-topping large and a plain cheese large. I told the employee about my coupon and anticipated to hear a total of something around $14-$15 (we ordered it for carryout). Thus, I was surprised when the employee told me the total was over $25. I confirmed that she had applied the coupon to the order and she said “yes” but that the online menu wasn’t the “real” menu if I was using a coupon. Instead, a separate menu of inflated prices applied to our order. Puzzled, I asked if there was really any value to the coupon in the first place (if I was granted the online menu prices for both pizzas without using the coupon it would have been the same price). She replied that there really wasn’t. It felt like a bait-and-switch. I ended up ordering a 1-topping large and the cheese large which came to approximately $23 (the coupon was applied).
When I arrived the staff was nice and professional. I didn’t bring up the bogus online prices and just paid. We received two sodas with our order which was nice. The pizza itself was decent. It tasted a little bit to me like Pizza Hut pizza which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Ironically, attached to one of our pizza boxes was a paper-version of Pizza Rita’s menu. All the prices were the exact same as what was listed online.
I am not ruling out that we won’t ever order from Pizza Rita again but chances are we won’t. The coupon mess left a bad taste in my mouth. I think accurate prices should be posted online and on paper menus. But to end on a good note the pizza wasn’t bad and the staff members were very...
Read moreWow. To say that this was a complete and utter disappointment, would be a complete understatement. We came to Spokane Valley for the evening so my wife and I could get away for a day, but we live in Montana so it was quite the drive. By the time we got to our hotel, we were starving and my wife and I decided that pizza was what we wanted for dinner. After looking around at all the pizza joints in SV, Pizza Rita was what we ultimately decided on because it had the best reviews and it was also what was recommended to us by the hotel staff. We ordered very basic items, two medium pizzas, one with pepperoni and sausage, and one with sausage and mushroom, and an order of the mozzarella cheese bread. I will say that the cheese bread was decent, but the pizzas, oh my word. My wife and I took one bite and immediately looked at each other in utter shock, how could pizza taste that bad?? The dough was quite hard and chewy, and very greasy on the bottom. I know the pizza was freshly made, but it tasted as if it had been sitting around for a few hours, like the last pieces at a buffet that nobody wanted. The sauce tasted generic and was very scarce on the pizza, each bite was mostly cheese and toppings. I would have asked for a refund, but by the time I got back with the pizza and after we decided to not eat anymore, it was too late (we did eventually see the refund guarantee on the side of the box, but again, too late). At this point, we were so exhausted, frustrated and tired, that we gave up on the pizza and went to Jack in the Box instead. Super bummed about...
Read moreI've been eating Pizza Rita pizza almost as long as I can remember. One of the things that you'll immediately notice about their pizza, if you haven't had it, is that the crust is in a totally different league. Crispy, fluffy, buttery, and with a sourdough twang all at the same time. To me it feels somewhere inbetween a normal hand-tossed and a pan crust, and with such a unique flavor. Their ingredients also tend to be on the fresher side of things, at the very least within the delivery scene.
I have to also give a shoutout to the owner, who sent me 20 bucks in store credit when I let them know that the crust wasn't quite right on a particular order (middle was a bit soggy) even though I mentioned it still tasted great and complimented the cheesy bread. And by the way, this is one of the only times in at least a decade that I can remember getting a messy crust.
To me that just demonstrates the spirit of the company and their dedication to quality. Everyone knows mistakes can happen even for the best of us, but not every company cares this much about the satisfaction of their customers. You likely won't get that kind of service from any other pizza delivery place, in fact. I would say you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't...
