My family and I have been enjoying Casa de Oro on North Division since they originally opened. For just about 3 decades, I have ordered the same exact dish each and every time, the Arroz Con Pollo. The flavor of the Arroz Con Pollo is amazing. They always use fresh ingredients and it shows. I wish I could comment on other menu items, but I only order the Arroz Con Pollo. I've seen other menu items and they look amazing as well. The portions are always generous, enough to take some home for later. The chips, salsa and refried beens are always plentiful. The service is always great! The employees are always nice and down to earth. They definitely do their best. The prices are not high, they are normal for 2024 in Spokane, WA. My family and I eat out often at many places around town and they are all the same. If you're going out to eat at a quality restaurant in Spokane, you should expect to pay $20 to $25 per person, just for the entree. Appetizers, sides, drinks and desert are separate. For 2 people, expect to pay at least $100 to $120 for 2 meals, 4 drinks, tax and tip. The owners are not getting rich, they're just trying to provide a living for themselves and their hard working employees. My grocery cost has doubled in the past 3 years and so has the restaurant owners groceries and supplies and hourly wages have increased. We understand and we appreciate Casa de Oro for continuing to do business in our city. Thank you for the decades of amazing food and...
Read moreMy partner and I come here often so we usually know what to expect. Tonight we were stumped. We came an hour and a half before closing so we didn't think anything of it. We got sat and was served chips and salsa and water quick so it was nice. The chips were stale and the beans tasted old. Right as we started to order our foood, we were told that they were out of rice for the night which was disappointing considering one of our meals that we come here for is on a bed of rice. So we just figured that was something they should have told us upon seating us. So we had to make a quick decisions. Instead of rice, they offered us fries or side salad so we each got a side salad along with our beans and meal. We get our food and both side salads are on ONE plate. A HOT PLATE i might add and both orders of beans on the other. The beans were stale as well. Half way through the meal, i take a bite of my salad and it's warm. I just don't understand why the salad didn't come on a side plate like the 3 others that were brought to a table right by us.. My partners enchiladas that we had to quickly order because they didn't have rice were very dry and not appetizing to even look at. We're hoping to get a discount since we weren't able to get the "whole" meal and was charged full price. I've never felt compelled to leave my full plate and walk out before. Overall, a horrible experience considering we come here often. Service was alright but food...
Read moreMy company often has after hours gatherings here. We’ve always had great service and food. Today, the staff and I ordered take out. We also learned today that the prices on their website haven’t been updated in 3 years. I thought we had been incorrectly charged when my staff member brought me the receipt. When I called to talk to the manager about being charged more, he informed me of the prices not being updated on their website. He also wanted to rant to me how everyone wants free food and he is going to go out of business. He was exceptionally good at finding every excuse not to address my issue is commendable and writes a new chapter in bad customer service and what not to do. He offered a refund if I’d bring the food back. Seriously. I’ve read so many great reviews and my team has had great service on our after hours get togethers. I’ll offer free advice: you, the manager, are the weakest link in that restaurant and should reconsider your career choice. You simply don’t care. I hope that every person who reads this understands your restaurant is fine until there is a problem. If you make a mistake, own it and make it right. Telling us your problems and making excuses shows your lack of business acumen and customer service. I didn’t ask for free food. I asked to make it right. Telling to bring it back for a refund is a lousy...
