IHOP — Restaurant in Spokane

I normally don't leave reviews on restaurants but this last experience really irritated me. I did an online order on mother's day which I knew I'd have to wait longer to pick up my food but that was fine. Did the order, picked it up (guy upfront was nice), and left. When I got home my order was completely messed up. I ordered the strawberry creme crepes combo for my wife. Her food issues were: no creme for the crepes, bacon was 100% fat and didn't look cooked, and the strawberry was mostly green and hard. I ended up going to Safeway to buy new strawberries and Cool Whip so my wife on mother's day could have a proper strawberry crepe meal like she wanted. When I got here's all served I opened mine up to find mine was also messed up. I ordered the chicken strips and pancakes. My food issues were: I got no pancakes and got three chicken strips instead of four.

I ended up calling the store and I got blamed for leaving the pancakes behind even though I told the manager lady the guy up front handed me the back and said that was all out food. She also said nothing about the bacon being straight fat (zero meat) and said the strawberries were fresh and grabbed at random. I asked why they didn't throw an completely unripe strawberry away and grab a different one to which I also got no answer.

Overall the manager lady blamed the issue of mother's day and that they were busy even though when I was there for 15 minutes waiting for my food there was literally 2 small tables of people there and an abnormal empty parking lot. I've had other minor issues in the past but this was unacceptable. I asked for a partial refund because so much of our order was off but only got a free meal for later which I said I didn't want because we honestly probably won't be back.

The waitress was awesome, however the food was not. I had to send back an order to be redone. The toast looked and felt like it had been sitting and waiting for the rest of the food to get done. Ordered eggs over easy and they were hard and had a brown crisp on the outside. My table mates both had omelets and one was really bright in color and the other one appeared to look like it had been cooked in old oil or a dirty grill top. Pictured is the cinnamon bites. We ordered 2 orders and both looked like the picture, close to burnt. They tasted burnt as well. One of the gentlemen working on the kitchen line had facial hair and wasn't wearing anything over it to prevent hair from falling in the food. Thankfully we didn't come across any hair. When we left, our waitress cashed us out and I complimented her on her service and asked her if the cooks were new. She said unfortunately, no. Even though she was stressed a tad, she really didn't let it show, she handled everything with grace and apologized for the cooks. We could hear the orders being placed by the waitress and it was obvious that the kitchen didn't listen to what she was saying, and was rather rude with her when she had to correct them. Well, I'm gonna miss the affordable prices since I am done with this IHOP. We were seated promptly but it took a bit for our waitress to find time to take our order. Another waiter came out to help her, but took the order of the girls at the table behind us first even though we were there first. It was a lengthy wait for our food. I heard the cook get on them that table 6 was up and needed to go out. 5 to 10 minutes later when the food cam out I asked the waiter if we were table 6. He said yes and I restrained being overly upset. Fries for my kids' meals were cold, as was my whole plate.. My wife's broccoli was cold and horrible. I asked for gravy on my potatoes and got a tiny half-full portion cup of gravy on the side. The young waiter was unable to accept criticism, he shouldn't be in this line of work. We saw our waitress very little until after voicing our problem. We had asked for a side of hollandaise for my wife's plate, and the young waiter rudely brought it out after most food was eaten after we had received the check.
