So I realize this is a bold claim, but take it as you will... I feel like something is wrong with the ice cream machine in the evenings. Like wrong in the way it's perhaps not cleaned regularly? Let me explain. And I hope this will be taken as more of a constructive criticism...
My niece and I have a guilty pleasure of getting late night milkshakes from McDonalds on occasion. It's always at this location (3rd & Howard) and it's always in the evenings. In the last few months I've had milkshakes maybe 6-7 times (I always order in the app, so I could check to be sure) But 4 of those times I've woken up at 3-5am violently ill... Like feeling like I'm going to die on the toilet while it's coming out both ends and sweating profusely (gross I know, but that's how it's been) The only common denominator has been having a McDonald's milkshake. I do have a compromised immune system, so I am more susceptible to even small amounts of bacteria. My niece did get sick one time to my 4 times, but just upset stomach, where mine is full on violently ill (like wanting to be put out of my misery ill...)
I'm sure McDonald's has tons of rules and guidelines on when to clean the machines and such, and maybe it needs cleaned twice a day? I don't know, but someone should check into this.
I didn't keep track of the dates/times of the first 3 times, but since I'm now pretty confident it's the milkshakes causing this, the last milkshake I had was Nov 29, 2024, 5:03 PM. But like I said, all my purchases are done via the app, and could provide details if needed.
I'd just like someone to be aware of this so they can take steps in keeping the equipment completely clean for those of us with compromised...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars, I would. This McDonald’s had me convinced I didn’t like McDonald’s anymore until I went to a different location and was reminded that it’s just that no one at this one wants to do their job (I hate saying that as a service industry worker myself, but it’s true), and I’m convinced the managers are no better, because how do they not see what’s going on ? Last night, I went and ordered my bf and I food. I drive home (3 minute drive) and everything was surprisingly fresh except my chicken nuggets, which were completely cold and soggy on the bottom of each one. It was immediately clear to me they had been sitting for a LONG time, and it wasn’t the drive home that made them cold, they were cold coming out the window. I had to drive back and they replaced them but there is no excuse for why those were sent out the window in the first place. Other common issues we deal with here: -You’ve been lucky to get salted fries from here for a few months now at least. -Employees yelling, joking, or doing anything other than working. Idc about people having fun, but when you’re waiting astronomically long times for your order, it’s really annoying to hear. -Astronomical wait times. Sometimes it’s literally insane, and then you’re again lucky if your whole order isn’t cold by the time you get it.
Seriously, if you don’t mind the extra drive, go anywhere but here. It’s more common to get cold or otherwise nasty food here than not. Even when it is “hot” you can tell it’s not fresh. You could drive to a further McDonalds, drive back home, and still have fresher food than the food they’re bagging at this location, it’s gone from disappointing to...
Read moreThe food is just the way you expect it to be, so it gets 5 ⭐️. The employees are pretty nice. My experiences inside the store and in the drive thru have been good with the staff. Now, the atmosphere is interesting, to say the least. I've been to the drive thru at 5 am and had a homeless person standing near the lane, hoping I'd buy them breakfast. I've been inside and seen a man try to fill his large Taco Bell cup at the soda machine. I've watched a person fall from their chair because they were too high. I've watched a woman toss her sleeping bag and other earthly belongings across the seating bench and then walk out. I've seen people out of their mind come and go from inside and circle the floor all too close to my table. I've never been touched or scared for my safety, but I've been uncomfortable the first few times i went there. Now that I know what to expect, I go for the wow factor. The staff does everything they can to keep the store safe and keep the non-paying rifraf out. I've watched them kick out trouble makers, get gloves and remove people's belongings outside to the corner sidewalk. They do their best and deserve raises for dealing with this. Kudos to the staff. Go at your own risk. It could be the most entertainment you see all day. Just be nice to staff and grateful for their smiling service now that you know what they deal with on the regular. If it weren't for the staff, atmosphere would only get one ⭐️, instead of...
