One of the park’s standout features is the Great Northern Clock Tower. It is a cherished Spokane landmark and a reminder of the city’s rich railroad heritage. Saved from demolition by Jerry Quin’s “Save Our Stations” campaign in 1972, the clock tower now stands as a tribute to Spokane’s history, making time over the park and adding a touch of nostalgia. Another highlight is the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, a peaceful and reflective spot dedicated to those who served in the Vietnam War. This granite monument provides a quiet place for visitors to reflect and pay their respects. Adding a whimsical touch to the park is the famous Garbage Goat sculpture. This metal goat eats garbage via vacuum system, making it both a quickly attraction and effective reminder to keep the park clean. The Spokane Pavilion, has been transformed into a open air venue with spectacular LED lights that illuminates the night sky. It’s a too spot for concerts, festivals and community events, offering a modern twist on Spokane’s historic roots. For kids, the park offers an exciting playground with various structures for climbing, sliding and exploring. The playground is designed with safety and fun in mind, providing hours of entertainment for families. The Red Wagon sculpture, officially known as the Radio Flyer, is another family favorite. This oversized wagon doubles as a slide, giving kids a fun, interactive experience and serving as a playful photo for visitors. Another newer feature, the Sister Cities Garden, celebrates Spokane’s relationships with its sister cities around the world. This peaceful area showcases stones, plaques, and plantings that represent Spokane’s global connections, encouraging visitors to learn about different cultures. Whether you’re strolling, biking, or chasing kids, there’s always more to explore. • Playgrounds galore: there seems to be a playground on each corner and are engineered for different ages, there a several benches to watch the kids (you’ll be better off joining them), and spots to have lunch. • Family activities: a charming carousel straight out of your childhood, and the sky ride tram that gives you breathtaking, up-close views of the falls. (Pro tip: it’s the spot for a memorable selfie.)

During the holidays, this park transforms into a winter wonderland with tree lighting ceremonies, vendor events, and festive extras like holiday Holoplex glasses that make every light twinkle. And let’s not forget the ice skating rink—it’s like a Hallmark (minus the queso 🧀)movie come to life. • Epic Views in Every Season: From roaring waterfalls to serene riverbanks, you’ll never run out of Insta-worthy moments. Iconic, Scenic, and Full of Photo-Worthy Moments – A Must-Visit in Spokane

Riverfront Park is a spacious and beautifully designed urban park that offers a wide variety of attractions for visitors of all ages. From unique playgrounds and sculptures to multiple waterfalls, bridges, and scenic photo backdrops, there’s something to explore around every corner. One of our favorite features was the upper waterfall, which offers a dramatic view, especially from the large bridge that makes for the perfect photo opportunity. There are several bridges throughout the park, each offering different angles and perspectives of the falls and river.

While some areas have limited shade, the park is ideal for a leisurely stroll, and the natural beauty combined with art installations makes it a must-see for anyone visiting Spokane. The lower waterfalls are smaller but still charming, and the park’s iconic views help capture the essence of the city.

Another perk? The shopping mall right next to the park. On a hot day, it was a great place to cool off with full AC, grab a drink, and enjoy its modern, clean design. We especially appreciated the thoughtful lighting fixtures, photo spots, and how open and stylish it felt—definitely not your typical mall layout.

Even better, My Fresh Basket—a health-focused grocery store—is conveniently located nearby. It’s a fantastic option if you want to grab fresh, organic food or snacks without eating out, especially for those on the go or watching their diet.
