Patton Oswalt apparently broke his foot about a month ago (Get well soon, Patton!) and the show was rescheduled. They didn't bother to tell us until the night before, even though we purchased the tickets on the 6th of February (what I know now is 2 days after Patton canceled his shows in Texas). The Fox knew very well that he would not be appearing and chose to continue selling tickets anyway. This feels extremely fraudulent.
When we called to explain that we're moving before June, when it's rescheduled, we were told we could sell the tickets to someone else. This is a normal practice but what isn't normal is taking money from people, knowing the act is going to be unable to perform and then responding with a shrug. I almost regret that I'm moving because this was so wrong. The Fox absolutely did us wrong and people need to know that. So now we're sitting here with our Valentine's Day plans shot and only a quick text late last night for warning. This is how they treat customers? You don't take money from people after you KNOW the artist can't perform and then tell them to cram their ticket where the sun don't shine. This is wrong and misleading and they couldn't even give us a head's up until late on Feb. 18th? I'm disputing the charges on my CC bill. Hopefully, they will realize the duplicity involved and return my money. I will NEVER do business with this conniving, scheming little theater again.
Update: Thankfully, my credit card company agreed and...
Read moreMake sure when you buy your tickets that you have no ACTS OF GOD in your future. Like my husband and I had because they will not refund your money. I am out $150.00 because my husband was in a very bad accident and almost died from his injuries. On the day of the concert we were supposed to go see, my husband was on the operating table where the doctors were saving his life. The Fox Theater Box Office manager has decided that this was not a good enough reason for him to return our money, but offered to let us go to one of the symphonies but not any of the events where we would have to pay for a seat. We are out $150.00 for a concert that we could not possibly attend through no fault of our own. I'm sure fox theater did not pay the artist for two empty seats so they earned $150.00 at my husband's expense. Thank you fox theater for making sure I never buy another ticket from you in advance, but no worries I will never frequent your establishment again. Companies that allow dollar signs to conduct their business instead of compassion for another human being that is in dire straits make my stomach turn. Monetary Gain from someone's misery is not the way to conduct a business, that kind of thinking is why our world is in the trouble it is in now. Thank you for...
Read moreMartin Woldson Theater at the Fox is home of the Spokane Sumphony and a cultural hub for the region. The beautiful art-deco style theater was built in 1931 and restored to its original glory on 2007.
Check the Fox website often for outstanding programs of all kinds but especially for shows by the fabulous Spokane Symphony. The Symphony performs a wide variety of shows; something for all tastes. The theater seats about 1600 and can be rented for weddings or special events. The ushers are all volunteers and make you feel welcome. Bars can be found on both levels and you can take your drinks into the hall as long as they are covered. The restrooms are clean and large. For Symphony concerts there are parking lots nearby. To save money, use River Park Square after 5pm for a very good price. If you are able to take STA (local bus) system it’s only three blocks away. Taxis, Uber or Lyft are also excellent options! Don’t let the lack of tons of parking keep your away. It’s worth the effort to go to...
