For some reason Google review wouldn't let me complete two separate reviews, one for the hotel room and one for the event room, so I wrote them both on this review. The stars for the event room may have been different otherwise. Beautiful hotel, very nicely and tastefully decorated for the Christmas holidays. I rented the City View room for a 30th birthday event as well as stayed in one of the rooms that night. The hotel room was nice, very accommodating for dogs, very beautiful lobby, and room was clean and equipped with essentials. Breakfast was very nice, very few vegan options but nice for the general population. Great job on this. Coffee was great. Parking is easy, secure and convenient. Nice staff, very friendly and helpful. I would like to stay here again and I really hope the people in this area of Spokane continue to take care of this nice hotel by not trashing the surrounding area of this hotel. Like I stated above, we also rented the City View event room December 9th, 2023 and leading up to the event the communication with the coordinator before the event was minimal. There were things I wasn't told that I had access to that I found out that I actually did have access to. Many things that would have saved me time before hand not having to take to the setup of the event. For example, ice at the hotel which we bought 7 bags of as we didn't know we had access to their ice machines and the location of the ice. Well, there is actually ice right on the floor of the event room to use at the event. Also, utensils which we brought for the food delivered, a nice event cooler to hold ice and white wine as well as other things like the entire set up for coffee (cream, sugar AND Stevia). I could have assumed the hotel provided the condiments, and eventually I called before hand and found out on my own. None of this that would only make the event accommodations more inviting were communicated to me before hand. I was under the impression that the event room, round tables, chairs, table cloths and the Christmas tree that would be up at that time were the only things included in the venue price. I had asked for 3 long tables to be set up for food along with the 8 round tables for people to sit around. The round tables were setup, but the long tables were not setup when I got there. The event person who was there at the time of the event who was in charge of providing anything we needed was magnificent. Her name was Lisa and she was very professional, helpful, friendly, and went above and beyond in helping our event to be amazing, which it was. She provided us with anything we needed and she was always right there when we needed something. We could call on the phone in the event room and Lisa was there within 30 seconds. She kept the coffee, tea and water replenished and did so many extras to make our event spectacular. When I noticed the long tables were not set up upon arrival, she came down and set them up within minutes so that it would be the complete setup I had asked for weeks before the event. If I ever were to have another event at Hampton Inn, the room was beautiful but I'd ask to work with Lisa. She was the reason this gets a 5...
Read moreThe Good: The room was clean with enough area to spread out without being too much. Staff was friendly and I was always greeted with a smile. The location can't be beat if you are visiting Providence Sacred Heart hospital since it is literally across the street. The bed was comfortable and I was able to fall asleep quickly. The bathroom wasn't cramped at all, and it was easy to move around in. The AC worked very well and was easy to operate and I was glad that there was an automatic temp control as well as fan control. Also, the part I really liked the most was that the room was actually dark at night. Very little light bleed and other than the clock on the microwave, nightlight in the bathroom, and the LED on the cable box, there wasn't any other sources of light. I hit the breaker on the nightlight to turn it off, and then a sock on the cable box and microwave covered up those. I really wish that hotels would do a better job of looking at night time sources of light, and cover them in some way. The Bad: There are not a lot of dining options within walking distance and those that are will require you to walk uphill at some point. The breakfast is just meh. Standard Hampton Inn fare with powdered eggs, a waffle maker, some sort of protein choice, and oatmeal. There is also not enough seating in the area if you choose to eat at a busy time. The parking is a multi-level parking structure that is almost too tight. Make sure to not have a vehicle larger than a medium size SUV, or you may struggle a bit parking and moving through it. The shower in my room also had a bit of a "scream" at certain water pressures and temperatures. I hate disturbing my fellow guests, so that was irritating having to constantly adjust it to find the spot where the "whistling" would stop. The Ugly: There really wasn't anything that would prevent me from staying here other than the better options...
Read moreI was excited to check in as we are in town for medical purposes. The hotel is advertised as pet friendly and we are traveling with a service dog in training. On checking, I was informed there is a $50 non-refundable pet fee. When I was informed of this I stressed this is frustrating because I was not informed of this during booking. I said, I'm highly considering trying to find a different hotel. The young person working the desk said, I can't apologize for that. Now I'm a bit more miffed. We were also told that our service dog in training was not allowed in the pool area or the dining area.
My daughter, with the disability said, it's a service dog, not a pet. She pulled up the American Disabilities Act and the Washington State related laws. She also pulled up the Hilton guest policy for service dogs. With this information fresh in my mind I went to the desk and talked with another worker. I asked about our service dog in training. He said, it doesn't apply, because he is in training and not certified. I said, there is no certification for a service dog. I could say, he is a service dog and you can't ask me to prove that. He smirked and said, that isn't what you said.
Pet friendly, by no means. ADA Friendly, by no means. This hotel is located on a steep hill and they mock someone because they are honest and say the dog is a service dog in training, even when he wears a vest everywhere we go during training and official meetings and doctors...
