Visiting from out of town and this place looked like a cozy diner with nice comfort food. The reviews did not live up to what we experienced. First and foremost the staff was so kind and service was standard.
However... There were a few families with kids there and it was so loud. I would expect this of a cozy diner but there seemed to be no acoustic control. Do not come here hungover. Also regarding noise - their ice machines cover screeched with that metal on metal sound every single time they opened it. I'm not often bothered by this but it was louder than the crowd and hurt my ears like nails on a chalk board every other minute when they would fill a new cup with ice.
Now the food... Half our table got their food at least 5 minutes before the second half. Just more of an inconvenience - I anticipated them going back to the counter right away to grab the items they couldn't carry all at once. But some just wasn't ready.
The drip coffee was awful. I've worked in a coffee shop and this was burnt and no amount of cream or sugar to make it palatable.
I ordered chicken fried steak with eggs and fruit. The steak was fatty and stringy. When I cut into it it squeezed out so much water and liquid I couldn't eat it. It tasted off I could even take a bite. It seemed cooked but something was wrong. My medium eggs after seeing the steak seemed very wet on the outside as well. I expect an oilly egg to some extent but this was just too much. The yolk was perfect on the eggs though for medium eggs. Again they were cooked but something in the prep seemed off. This was comped for us and the waitress was very nice.
The other people had good food overall. The eggs Benedict hollandaise sauce was some of the...
Read moreThe line was out the door, there were a lot of people waiting in the waiting area inside and more people waiting outside. We had to wait about ten minutes before our table was ready. Looking around there were plenty of tables open for people to be seated , but yet there was still a lot of people waiting.
I started with the mimosa flight. The guys had coffee and bloody Maryâs. I ordered the Florentine Benny and added shaved ham. The guys all ordered the chicken fried steak either with the biscuit or French toast.
The first set of bloody Maryâs flavor was a little volutes, but for $5.95 they werenât bad. My mimosa flavors were good, my favorite was the Hawaiian , which had a touch of Malibu. Overall the flavors of the mimosas were good, but I wouldnât say they were worth the $18 price.
Our hash browns could have been browned a little more. They were okay. My Florentine Benedict with ham was good. One of my poached egg was well done, and the eggs didnât seem like they were poached. They seemed like they were maybe supposed to be sunny side, which would make sense because everyone else orders sunny side eggs at my table. My tomatoes werenât grilled, they were diced fresh tomatoes. Which was still good but I was looking forward to a grilled tomato. The shaved ham had a good flavor.
The chicken fried steak is tough. It is a huge steak and the breading is thick. The French toast was good. Just average French toast.
Overall the food was okay . I finished my food, but it wasnât something to rave about or...
Read moreI loved my visit here. We got the mimosa flight, Bloody Mary flight, lemon cloud pancakes, and chicken fried steak. Our service and overall experience was spectacular.
The drinks were so fun and delicious. Iâm not a Bloody Mary fan, but wanted to try them. It came with a normal Bloody Mary, bloody Maria, Bloody Caesar, and bloody red snapper. It was such a fun way to try a new drink.
I am an avid mimosa fan and they were amazing. It came with a normal, Hawaiian, cran-apple, and grand mimosa. The cran-apple and grand were so good, hard to pick a favorite.
Now onto the food. The lemon cloud pancakes were easily the best pancakes Iâve had in my entire life. The ricotta whipped inside made them so soft and the lemon was perfect. Not too strong but had a nice lemon flavor come through.
My fiancĂŠ got the chicken fried steak. It came with 2 eggs, hashbrowns, and French toast. It was so much food for an affordable price. He loved every bit of it.
The service was great. Our server, Sarah, was attentive, funny, and personable. She kept a watchful eye if we ever needed anything. She made the already great experience even better. The people who delivered our food were also so nice and funny. They have an...
