We came because the weather had been great and rainy and we heard that a soup flight exists!! Like a wine flight, but warm, rich, cozy soup!! And the soups we had did not disappoint. I was hoping for a sourdough grilled cheese with it, but all they offered was a cheese dipper (a hamburger bun with the top flipped inside with some white American). Grilled cheese can't be bad, but it was a slight disappointment. However, the Birria Chili was so good that I need to recreate at home! Broccoli Cheddar was typically rich with big pieces of broccoli, so it was practically as healthy as a side salad (probably not, shhhh!) The chicken noodle had shredded not diced chicken, chucks of carrot, and tiny little boys of onion, (maybe a tad of garlic?) and liberally seasoned with thyme, which I love!! And the Brie Mushroom soup was so perfectly good and rich, but, sadly, neither of us could finish it. It's very surprising that this old drive-in, probably one of the old A&Ws, has such a fun, clean interior and really interesting paintings all over the walls. Just a really chill vibe. And then the food is just perfectly and inventively seasoned. Great meal. About $20 with a water per person. I gasp at the price and then realize I am now gasping at every cash register and realize it's not that bad for what you get, 3 bowls of soup, about 6 ounces each and a grilled cheese. Now to curl up acne take an afternoon nap on this perfect rainy day.
TIP: Be sure to order at the register before sitting...
Read moreWent for lunch recently with 2 others (3 of us total). We all got regular-size sandwiches. I got pasta salad as a side, my friends got soup.
The soup was good.
Pasta salad was bad. Had no flavor, no spice, no exciting sauce, no pepper, nothing. Just pasta shells, pickles, and little chunks of cheese tossed in mayonnaise. I only ate 2 bites and gave up. It was bad.
The sandwiches were good. Mine was mostly lettuce, but the cheese and meat and bread were all good. I wouldn’t say the sandwiches were anything special. Just average, run-of-the-mill sandwiches. But decently tasty.
Cost was $61 for the 3 of us. No drinks. Just 3 sandwiches and 3 sides. I assumed for $14 per sandwich they came with a side but apparently not.
It wasn’t a $61 lunch. More like a $30 lunch.
It’s way over-priced, in my opinion. And over-hyped.
I will give them points for quickness. Didn’t have to wait long for our food. Mixed bag on customer service. The one lady at the register was friendly, the other person who brought me a “to-go” piece of foil, not so much.
But probably won’t go back. It wasn’t anything to write home about and it was spendy. You can honestly get just as good of a sandwich at Jersey Mike’s or Jimmy John’s. For $61 I could’ve gone to a fancier place and been waited on. And had better food and service.
But that area of town needs good restaurants, and I wish them the...
Read moreFinally made it to Zozo's but left without ordering food. Since we had never been before we wanted to sit down and look at a menu before ordering. The girl at the door welcomed us and was nice but we went to two different tables before finding a clean one. Looking over the menu we were super disappointed that they don't offer half sandwiches and all of their burgers are served with 2 patties..?? What about people who want or need smaller portions? My other half wanted to try the Philly Cheese Steak but he saw one at another table and he said it just looked like a lot of bread and didn't look that good. Knowing that after adding peppers (which already come on Philly's most places and don't cost extra) it would have been over $14 (JUST the sandwich--no side!) we decided to leave. Dirty tables, no smaller portion menu options for sandwiches or burgers and an unimpressive Philly for the price (and you have to pay for peppers??) Super disappointing... but 3 strikes before we even ordered was our cue to leave. 2 stars I guess? Because the girl at the door was nice. Sad that we ended up at a chain sandwich place instead of a local business but we can't afford to waste money on food we aren't going to eat. We might have stayed and tried Zozo's food if there were options for smaller sandwiches and burgers....and clean tables would...
