I’m an anesthesiologist dropped in with my gym gear and cap worn baseball catcher style. I was going to the gym but decided to catch one of football games and swing in for a few brews. Honestly, it’s not my type of hangout. I’ll swing in on a rarity on the way home.. Most of people I encountered at bar were cordial. There is a young skinny blond server/bartender with sort of an attitude. I’ll explain an incident with a drink order. First, I asked for a chilled double Jamison shot. Young lady, I don’t need a rundown of flavors of Jamison. When a patron at bar ask for a Jamison, it’s the original unless otherwise specified by the customer. If I wanted one of the other Jamisons, I would have specified it in advance. Honestly, this should be bartending 101. The other young lady darker hair; she was very cordial, professional and offered better customer service. Btw, this was Sunday afternoon, Sept 14th around 2-3 pm. Also, the blond made a snide comment when I said Jamison was a little expensive, but I was only joking. In closing, it’s more a local scene; I don’t frequent it a lot. I’m never there in the evening. In reference to food, I have had the wings and tenders, they weren’t the greatest ie mediocre. In my books, Jonathans down the street has the better food menu. Anyway, a good place for cold brew or two, a casual chat and out the door. Will I go revisit after the above incident? Highly unlikely. Maybe, I should refer John Tapper to them for quality improvement of food and...
Read moreI have never written a google review, but my experience at Gary’s marked the worst customer service dining experience ever! My niece (who is is a psychologist) just moved here from Florida and wanted to eat/dance, so I suggested Gary’s. Just before dancing, she asked our waiter for a styrofoam cup (to dance with) and he gladly brought it to her. Just as she transferred her drink into the cup... a different female server (who wasn’t even our server) literally ran over and confiscated my niece’s drink and rushed away without a word. We were floored at such belligerent, bizarre behavior! I went to “Nick” (the bartender/ manager on duty) hoping for some reprieve or an apology, or at the least, for her drink back. He pigeon holed her and, accusatorially, said she was going to steal it, staking that he has been around and knows this, and told us to just leave, refusing to make he and his employee’s wrongs right. Seeing the lack of diplomacy that we were dealing with, I asked for their names, so as to follow up with owner the next day. Nick refused to give his last his name and his employee said, and I quote, she wasn’t giving her “fricken name.” All in all, I have never encountered such unprofessionalism and aggressive, discourteous customer service related behavior. At the end of the day, leadership is as leadership does, and the the lack of patrons is reflected therein. The unfortunate thing is their food is actually...
Read moreWe visited Gary’s Place (2001 Campbell Station Pkwy, Spring Hill, TN) and were the only customers, should’ve taken that as a warning sign.
We went to the bar for drinks. One person briefly looked at the food menu, and suddenly the bartender began pressuring us to order food. We said we just wanted a drink first, but she kept pushing. We asked for water with our shots, she wouldn’t bring any and kept saying, “What food do you want?”
She told us the kitchen closed at 9 PM (it was 8:24 PM). Minutes later, she took a phone order for 3.5 dozen wings and came back demanding we order food now. When we asked why, she claimed a “big to-go order” was coming later. We were forced to order food we didn’t want. When we asked to cancel minutes later, she refused.
Almost an hour passed, still no food. She said the to-go order was being made before ours. I asked her name and of course, she wouldn’t give it.
This was dishonest, manipulative, and disrespectful. I’ve never been treated so poorly at any restaurant. If you value your time, money, or self-respect, do not go to...
